Gastropods have their uses. No idea if you know the episode of "Wellington Paranormal" about the alien plants staging an invasion and the slugs in Minogues salad....
I must confess I've not even heard of the series! Until now. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/mW7FMmAyG_vqxkNOJyyh.gif) OMG. It is SOOOOOO awesome.
Like X-Files. Just as a comedy with completely incompetent police officers.
I have lived in NZ for 10 years and it is also pure nostalgia for me.

On day 2 of our 3 day state wide storm.. yesterday over 20K homes without power. Backyard is almost like a swimming pool (the lawn will look great in a few days). The front road is flooding over and it's rapidly going up our driveway. Sent a "beginning" video to a couple forumers already . "We Will Rebuild" ! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/mW7FMmAyG_vqxkNOJyyh.gif)

Has anyone on here heard of / "competes" in 'Whamageddon'?
(In short, 'players' try to avoid hearing Wham!'s 'Last Christmas' for as long as possible in the run-up to Christmas. There's a website with rules and everything.)
This made my day because it appeals on the same level of British silliness taken seriously as Monty Python's Fish-Slapping Dance and because
I have crowned myself Joint National Grand Master Black Belt Champion (or whatever their top level is) because so far as I know I've never heard the song and anyway, 'Last Christmas' is not a song, it's a mysterious and creepy 'Doctor Who' special with the excellent Mr. Capaldi!
EDIT: If you do hear the song before Christmas, you are out of the game and sent to Whamhalla. Until next December, presumably, when you can return and play again.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Realising that I'm chatting real-time with a fellow fan in actual Australia. Hard to get my head round what a global phenomenon Doctor Who has become, uniting people from around the world (OK. as long as they get Disney+, but the bills have to be paid somehow).

Here we go. I feel I have to post this somewhere.
It's not made my day to finally realise that my favourite show is not my favourite show anymore. Doctor Who has become something I'm finding annoys me more than my enjoyment of it, and I never thought I'd say that. My recent comments about the TV specials have been watered down from how I really feel, and I hate the fact that I could be regularly turning in posts more suited to 'that other place' (a place I banned myself from because of their negativity). Problem is, I'm the negative one now, and I don't want to be. Doctor Who has been less than brilliant before, but mainly due to lack of budget or the whims of a BBC Controller etc; that they're turning it into a Disney production now goes against everything that - in my view - makes/made it great. I hate what they're doing to Doctor Who, absolutely hate it. So I'm going to abstain from the show for a while, and that means abstaining from this fine place too. I'll still pop in to talk about the occasional BF release that takes my interest (I've a few pre-ordered), but other than that, I'll mainly become a 'lurker' - rather that than just continuously whinge about what's happening on the telly. Bless you all and have a tremendous Christmas.

I feel you. I tried to keep away from spoilers (I even have stopped scrolling on social media and go straight to my hobby groups) and have not even read the relevant sections on here, so no idea what you where whining about (do NOT tell me!). I did hear some faint complaints however, even if I tried to tune them out.
I have NOT seen the new specials yet! Reason is, I just refuse to sign up for another Streaming service. Fullstop. No discussion. So I have to wait for it to eventually pop up on Prime or iTunes.
Maybe this makes me less of a fan, but you know what? There are other things at the moment which are more worth of my attention and my money. Not throwing it at a greedy global fandom swallowing corporation, thank you very much.

15:09 on that Eccleston and Piper vid. Questioner clearly thinks "here's a nice happy question" - "What needs to happen for you to come back?" Chris' reply - "Sack Russell T. Davies. Sack Julie Gardner. Sack Phil Collinson. Sack Jane Tranter. So, can you arrange that?" to a very "do we...cheer?" response from the crowd. Eccleston's been honest he's not rich and still works for financial reasons but he's got standards and even for a Disney-funded payday wouldn't go back. That's got to be admired. He's got his dignity and if you've read his book, what he went through about the time on Doctor Who and his life in general then? That's priceless. I'd say "never change, Chris" - but he won't.

This is one of the reasons I'm not happy about the return of RTD et al, the way they treated Chris.

I was at that event, Chris & Billie both absolutely lovely. First time meeting them and wasn’t sure what to expect, having it in the back of my mind they may be two of the more pricklier meets, but couldn’t be further from the truth.
Would like to see them both record a couple of Big Finish trilogies together. I’d like a characterisation for the Doctor more like he had on screen, which happens rarely on audio, and think a little expansion on their one series would be welcome.
