I agree with the other voices on here. This is simply NOT on, not in your line of work, not as a family dad, not in any case.
Maybe they think you are big and strong and look like a certain action hero, but still, you are not the Terminator.
They have to get their A into G ASAP.
Yes..! 2nd thing I said after telling them I had to tell my brother as we are identical twins- for his protection. "I don't want anyone here to fob this off and think Shane is a big ann strong guy he can handle him.. No. A threat is a threat is a threat no matter how you try and church it up/soften the blow"..
After my lil 1/4 size "blow up" as I was leaving the office - today better have a result..........
Well, don't leave us on tenterhooks; any progress to report?

Pretty catastrophic black ice over here. During work, it started raining on ground and cars at -2 degrees, and a ice shell as thick as my pinky was formed on the ground and on our cars. I was so sensible to go out of the office during work several times to chisel free the important bits of my car (doors and windows), other people who did not could not even open the doors. Massive problems all over the country, roads closed, airports closed, many accidents and many injured people. I made it home safely, but I drove very slowly. However, in my village, in the road where my parents life, someone managed to lose grip in a road bend and land on the car roof. In a 30km zone. At a guess, the person was not going 30km. Not sure if and how and when I will make it to work tomorrow morning, but since I do not have a death wish, I will not brave massive ice glaciers on the roads.

Goodness, be careful tuigirl. Black ice is dangerous for both vehicles and pedestrians, as I'm sure you know. A few years ago someone I know slipped on black ice running to catch the Metro and had a concussion. Took them a long time to recover and they still have problems to this day if there is a repeat head bump of sufficient force.

We had been pre-warned by the weather service, and I kept a close eye on it.
But I still have to drive 10km over country roads, luckily, the road service was on top of it and put out a lot of salt.
The worst part really was walking to and from the cars.
Many of my colleagues fell down, luckily we did not have any broken bones, but last year, someone broke their arm on the company carpark.
I am sorry you had had such a severe injury. One cannot be too careful.
Sadly my internet here is so patchy, I cannot do remote office from home. Rural Germany is like 3rd world. Actually, my IT department told me to move to Pakistan, since they now have better internet in Pakistan than in rural Germany. Charming.

Glad you stayed safe. Oh, and it wasn't me who had the injury, it was someone I know.

I will "try" to be tactful..! Ok.. My direct Manager had a meeting with the #2 and #3 bosses here - #1 boss is on annual leave.. They had an official transcript written out.. 3 lines.. from what he told me they didnt feel it was "directly specific enough" to warrant getting the Police involved... My Manager wasn't given the chance to listen to the call.. To be fair what I was told by the young lad who had the call with this person, wasn't technically 100% what he said, slightly enough to perhaps Maybe cause a bit of resonable doubt. I promptly told my Manager that call was 9 mins long, it only ended then as he escalated to his Manager who was stuck on the phone with him for 30 minutes.. Both calls were recorded. He then in the next few days/week called back 3 times and spoke to 4 female staff and carried on again in a Very similar fashion. I then gave him the names of these 4 people- he is going around privately speaking to them in the hopes of getting this escalated again. Very Disappointing.

For a company where they give you lollies (aka. "prizes" for being such a "valued" employee), this is a kick in the genitals.
Honestly. This shows how much this work place really values you personally. As suggested above- you have so much sick leave, and serious health issues, just make them see how much you appreciate their behaviour. Seriously.
They obviously do not speak a different language. If you call in sick, they are in serious trouble since you are the person keeping the place running. Give them a taste of their own medicine.
And if they fire you, you are such a good worker, you will find a better, more appreciate place any time.
This is a severe break of trust.
Ask yourself if this is worth it. (we discussed this before, and I have told you before I find the morals of your place pretty questionable concerning their treatment of staff) No idea how you can still find words to defend this behaviour.

If this person has rung up and threatened five people in a workplace why hasn’t anything been done about it? And the calls are recorded! Did the other four report it as well? I’ve worked in private and public business over my life and I’ve never had a work-place that didn’t have a policy and procedure in place for maintaining the safety of employees that everyone took seriously.

Aussie normally appears to be a strong person, with attitude, so I just cannot understand at all why he lets these obviously incompetents run and ruin his life.
Does this company use him as a guinea pig to see what will happen in the worst case? Really sounds a bit like it.
