Why? Was he the costume designer? Costume i seen better fan film bat suits, Ben Affleck I'm sure could've created a better suit than this, thank god I'll always have the Nolan Trilogy & Burton movies. To be fair, it's a stuntman wearing a suit that probably will be adjusted in post-production and stunt suits almost always look weird anyways.

OMG. What a day. It was great! I had a blast and posed for so many pictures and selfies. I even made my Whovian colleague very very happy. I am so pleased with myself that I had dared doing this (going to work in full cosplay kit)- I made so many people smile and laugh today and only got positive reactions. I even stormed into the large unpacking hall where all our incoming samples come in and there are around 40 people in there... all looking stressed and sad. And then I shout "Hellau!" (the German Carneval greeting) and all the faces light up and everybody smiles and waves and applauds.
It was immensely gratifying and brought not only joy for me, but also for the others.
Of course tomorrow nobody will know me without the costume, but that is completely beside the point.
It was another proof for myself that I am able to do these things, even with social anxiety (wearing costumes helps!).
And, I was very happy to see that my fellow Germans do have a sense of humour and that they could laugh with me. Yes, most of them thought I was a clown. But hey- whatever works.
Then, later, the kids at my nieces birthday party were also very happy seeing me- we had a lot of fun.
And, another surprise- my parents did NOT hate it. I think my dad even loved it. And my mum was even smiling. So the thing was a complete and utter success.

That’s brilliant!😊 and you look amazing by the way!😀

Has anyone ever taken Tramadol (also known as Ultram in other countries) for extreme pain? My prescription says to take 1 every 4 hours.. OMG.. I get zoned out when I take 2 in the space of 15 hours.. I think I will stick to more than 2.. 1 hour before bed, and then at lunchtime..
I 100% do not trust myself to drive or operate machinery Yes. And I would not take it and drive or operate machinery after taking it. It knocks me out, too. But I tend to be very sensitive to opioids (and other medications). How much pain are you in right now? And you're not back at work yet now, are you? If you're not, I would say take it as needed. And remember that pain meds are most effective when you take them when the pain is mild. If you wait till you're in intense pain, they are not going to be as effective. If there are things you feel you need to be alert for, you could ask your healthcare provider about an alternative that does not knock you out. Ibuprofen is helpful for many people, if you are permitted to take that.

The pain is manageable I just am limited in walking slowly, no heavy lifting/running/jumping etc. And yeah I take them as needed, when I feel like I am gonna have a big spurt of prolonged pain I take 1. So far I have taken no more than 2 in a 24 hour period. I don't mind feeling all knocked out it means I can fall asleep during the day easily

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Sounds like you are doing it right. You need rest to heal.

I think I might be able to get away with the Third Doctor's more reserved outfits now I'm a bit older. But I'd need five silvered wigs of increasing bouffant-ness to be correct for each season.

Honestly, it was worth it. And wearing costumes in public is easier than thought if you get over the initial threshold of awkwardness. Believe it or not, but I suffer from social anxiety and I did this in equal measure to challenge myself.
And I just told myself- I am so old now, do I really still care about what the "normal" people might think? Life is to short for that.

There should just be a day, perhaps(Doctor Who Day) November 23, when all the Whovians in the world can all come together and dress in costume as their favorite characters 😊

I was adjusting one of my hearing aids today in front of a Year 3 class (8 years old) and some of them looked amazed that I had it. There was a brief chat - I mean, an opportunity for a teaching moment arose - about the extent of my hearing loss (mostly confined to the higher pitches, which I sort of need in my job) and as I put it back in my ear, I gave it a bit of a theatrical shove and grabbed hold of my other ear with my other hand. While I did this I quickly pulled my other hearing aid out, convincing a few of the more imaginative children that I’d successfully pushed a hearing aid through my skull.
Of course, when I mentioned it in the staff room, a colleague immediately replied with, “Always knew there was nothing between your ears, Ian.”
