There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

While I have enjoyed my holidays, it was good to be back at work this morning.

I don't know. Sometimes, when I travel home, we still have fights because I am so different from the rest of the family. When I am in a good mood, I am able to just ignore it. But when I am in a bad mood, and as you know, I have not felt very well lately, I am grumpy and touchy and easily offended. And my family knows how to press all the buttons. And some things said just hit some open bare nerves. I know very well that I should be the adult, since I am aware about this. But what to do when I just do not have the strength? Anyways, so we had another row, just because my sister said a silly thing and then my mum chimed in and pressed the same button. Main reason was that I had to leave early yesterday after lunch since the German sci-fi community had an online convention and one of my friends had a talk after lunch. I had already on purpose NOT taken part in the Saturday proceedings, and made time for the family. But I wanted to see my friend. So I said that I needed to go since my sci-fi friend was giving a talk. Cue- "You and your crazy people" Not feeling well, and this was waving a big red flag. I was off. Now I am feeling pretty bad about it. It had been not necessary at all, and I should just had let it slide. It is not as if this situation was ever going to change. And yes, I made my point clear, and maybe I even had the moral high ground, and I was able to leave early... but I felt bad all day yesterday and also when I woke up this morning. Sometimes being different just sucks. No you are a adult meaning you don't owe them any explanation, if you joining online convention that your entitlement, none there business my family was same with me & Doctor Who & my passion for films i told them this is who i am this is what i enjoy don't like it pi.s off. My ex girlfriend once said if had choice would be me or your Doctor Who & movies to get rid of my reply was you can be replaced some my collection can't so be sorry see you go but goodbye. You are you, you enjoy sci-fi don't let anyone stop you enjoying that.

Thanks guys. On a positive note: our village storks are back, this morning when I went to work, I saw them down at the river paddocks.

Hey, speaking as one of the "crazy people" (I should have a hat...), I think we, collectively as a community, are doing quite well for ourselves. I mean, it's very telling that not even sealed borders and locked rooms can shake our enthusiasm to share what we enjoy with others. You're allowed to like what you like, no less than that. Be like the stork and just let the water wash off your back.

I think they meant to say how happy they are that you have an innocent pastime that you enjoy, how deserving they think you are of the happiness it brings you, and especially for how hard you work and how proud of you everyone is, but the Telepathic Circuit doesn't work on Klingon? :-)

No, indeed you are right, the telepathic circuit has never worked on Klingon. And I even bought the German version of the Klingon dictionary 20 years ago when it became available.... for some reason, this only made matters worse...
Thank you for making me laugh.

Had to take the Covid test for work related reasons and it actually wasn’t as bad as I thought, so that’s a relief. Plus, I’m getting my second vaccine shot this Friday! It’ll be nice to have that out of the way... until I inevitably have to get a booster shot of course :/

Chelsea and Man City may just have made everybody's day! I’m not exactly the biggest fan of football but good on them I say. Here’s hoping it leads to that quite frankly ridiculous super league being abandoned once and for all.

Hello again.
Louise Jameson's Leela was a revelation watching season's 14 and 15 a couple of years ago for the first time. Even with a poor script she gave the character a real nobility and the way she worked with John Leeson's K9 really made me laugh. My favourite Leela moments include her supper with Litefoot, her reaction to the entitled Adelaide in Horror of Fang Rock and her bravery and banter when captured by the rebels in The Sunmakers.
It was interesting hearing her in the Gallifrey series that was on offer a while ago. She was also great fun in Time in Office too.

Hello everyone! I've been in touch with Whiskeybrewer. Just to let you know he's doing fine and he's surviving as always. Hopefully he'll be back in touch with us on the DU forum soon. Tim.

Work on my creative project is going well, somehow I worked on it for several hours tonight without even realizing any time passed 😂 Hopefully it’s a good sign 🤞 I am still kind of terrified but I feel as though I am on the right track. I will probably scream (not to mention possibly pass out) if this somehow by some miracle manages to even remotely work but if nothing else at least I can’t say that I didn’t try!

Yesterday (the 19th) was my 28th birthday, and I had a quiet 'little' day at home, mainly watching stuff (the Arrowverse's 'Crisis Of Infinite Earths' again, a film and, in memory of Lis Sladen 'The Time Warrior') before heading out to dinner at a restaurant with my parents... Nice but quiet, nice but quiet...
