Because of the whole "u know what" happening around the world- pretty much everyone is being blocked from entering Australia (funny how all new Covid cases in Australia are from ex-pats coming back..).. Checking my social roster.. Between 18th June and Halloween night there is no less than 6 tribute bands playing in Adelaide:
AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Metallica, Poison & Van Halen Aussie official tribute bands..
(theres a whole festival playing in every state next month other than Adelaide that have Skid Row, ZZ Top, Queen, KISS, Ozzy Osbourne and Foo Fighters tribute bands .)
Dammit I would have gone to this !

Yesterday (the 19th) was my 28th birthday, and I had a quiet 'little' day at home, mainly watching stuff (the Arrowverse's 'Crisis Of Infinite Earths' again, a film and, in memory of Lis Sladen 'The Time Warrior') before heading out to dinner at a restaurant with my parents... Nice but quiet, nice but quiet... Happy belated birthday, i always enjoy The Time Warrior & Sarah Jane will always be my favourite companion. We miss you Liz. Thank you. Indeed so. She passed away on my 18th, so I always like to take a couple of minutes to think about her/Sarah Jane and, considering that this year marks 10yrs, I thought that I 'might as well' give her first story another watch

Stayed up until 2 am working on my creative project! It feels like things are coming together but I will have to check over it today to make sure I didn’t overdo things a bit late last night. I have noticed that sometimes I tend to get overly passionate when I work on it late in the evening😄I won’t be surprised if I need a nap at some point later today!😴 Hopefully the project comes across well once I send it off. If I do hear back I will probably be extremely nervous, but hopefully it will all be worth it 🤞 I probably tried to talk myself out of this about a thousand times out of nervousness and embarrassment but I guess you can’t know unless you try! It’s taking a bit longer than I thought to get all the pieces right but hopefully I can send it off soon!

All the very best for your creative project Timegirl. Putting anything you've created out into the big bad world is always nervewracking. When I started writing again for the first time in 20 years in response to the Paul Spragg Memorial Short Trip opportunity in 2016, I was very unsure if I was any good at all.
When the Divergent Wordsmith published their first anthology in late 2017, I had a very supportive editor in Wolfie who was very understanding as I lost a month due to a manic episode and a sd card with the story on it. As I contributed other stories to the Wordsmiths I increased in confidence, entered a few competitions unsuccessfully and slowly and surely wrote a 37,000 word children's novel. It is amazing how far you can travel if you keep at it.
If you've worked hard on it and it's the best you can do, then you have to launch it out to sea. Even if you only get one positive response it has still been worthwhile. Not only that, every project you work on increases your skills and experience. No project is worthless, I keep all my synopses and fragments of stories, because one day I'll get round to completing that Doctor Who story with the giant bunnies...

This afternoon I 'went to' an online recording of an American talk-show (despite, you know, being in the UK), aaaaand now I'm up on Youtube, "dancing" along to a Rebecca Black song for the rest of days... Well, whilst I will say that I did enjoy the recording (more than the other two I've attended at least), I'm probably going to need a couple of quick drinks. Youtube Link

I've done quite a few radio recordings with the BBC over the years (and a couple of TVs, but never in-vision), but this is one of the few I've done 'in' America (recorded, of course, online). I can probably be seen clapping in the other two US ones I did but, well, this bit's up on Youtube... EDIT - I did think about suggesting that my parents and I (try to) attend a sitcom recording the night we spent in LA a few summers ago, but I didn't think they'd want to...

But I am sending you hugs.

Incident in the "AussieDoctorWHoFan" house over the last 60 minutes.. Junior inadvertantly put the kitten we have in a real precarious position, she was meow/screaming in pain I heard her from the other side of the house..
I can't get those cries of pain out my head.. I need a drink.. and I don't drink either.

Three days lockdown here in WA. Cue the panicbuyers at most major supermarkets.
