Busy day to get things done. Morning Swim, Haircut, Car Wash, Bathroom top to bottom. And finally got a new phone set up (had to get a new SIM card first). Decided my 10+ year old Blackberry had finally had its day as the battery was knackered, most of the Software no longer functioned as it was unsupported and the exterior trim was worn down to the shell. I was paying for services I could not use anymore. Got an iPhone at last - will have to get used to being careful of what trouser pockets to put it in. That was the beauty of the Blackberry. It had been dropped scraped and sat on so many times but was indestructible. Like a battered Tardis. In 22 years, it is only the fourth mobile I have bought and only the second smartphone. For an IT teacher, I have never been too fussed about keeping up unless I have to. It's like one of the Jags has a touch screen sat-nav on the centre console, yet I have never used it in 5 years of ownership, beyond checking to see that it works. Old fashioned maps, knowing your way around the country and actually planning your journey beforehand still takes some beating.

Old fashioned maps, knowing your way around the country and actually planning your journey beforehand still takes some beating. lol. I dunno. I wouldn’t be without my hd traffic service that reroutes away from accidents and tailbacks (...but I do still have a UK road atlas in the boot just in case) You are right that there is a benefit there. The sat-nav is one of the old DVD-ROM & Satellite based ones so is not 'live' as such. Maybe the iPhone may be useful for such things. I used to do light haulage over 25 years ago so got to know my way around the UK and gained a good sense of direction, whether I am headed east, west, north south and how far, so that I usually found my way to places easily enough first time, without overshooting the destination when unable to stop to check. A few years back I was headed down to Norfolk from the NE for a holiday and encountered gridlock coming into Cromer. I remembered a small side road I passed on the way in and remembered seeing it on the map. Seven miles of narrow lanes un-signposted, just going straight over each t-junction in an arc and bingo, I came out right opposite the Cliff Top Hotel that I was booked into! ( edit: I was booked at a nearby resort village - not Cromer itself) About 10 years back, one of the previous Jags had a fault and had to be towed to a specialist a few miles away from work. The tow truck was going through some wincingly hairy narrow lanes and I asked why he was risking that route rather than the main road and he answered that the nav has it as the shortest route, which his employer obliged him to take, for fuel consumption. But as you say - sometimes its good to know what has happened since you set off, with time to act.

Not sure why I did this, I guess to see if I could face my fears and make it feel less upsetting in my memory, but I rewatched the moment from the video that upset me so much on Christmas Eve. It still stung a little bit and I still find it very upsetting but I didn’t burst into tears watching it so I guess that’s something. I know it’s a strange thing to do but I wanted to see if rewatching it would make that moment hurt any less.
Anyone else do this with things they watched that upset them the first time they watched it?

I’d rather not say what the video was. I was more just asking if anyone else rewatches things that upset them the first time they saw it? Because I felt weird that I had rewatched something that really upset me to see if it upset me any less this time. That’s all. Why “: - ( “? Sorry I genuinely have difficulty interpreting emojis sometimes.

Got my second vaccine shot a few hours ago! Feeling good so far - hopefully I'm still feeling that way in the morning.

It is a philosophical life lesson that one needs to confront ones fears to move on, to put it aside.

Great no flipping release confirmed for Mortal Kombat in UK, so another film which will be ruined by spoilers.
Sort it to watch in UK & other countries we don't want another Season One Mandlorian type delay.

The Let's Make More MST3K (Mystery Science Theater 3000) kickstarter opened up an All Digital rewards package like they had for the one that got them the Netflix seasons. All the goodies I actually want with none of the being on a hook for shipping costs on things I don't. And more episodes of MST3K (6 so far) is always good news to me!

First, I want to thank everyone for their good wishes last week. I'm bringing dinner over tonight for my cousin's husband and sons as they continue to try and heal from the shock of her passing. If I've learned anything over the last year, it's that we can't take anyone or anything we love for granted.
Which brings me to my immense excitement because I JUST BOOKED A FLIGHT TO THE UK for the end of May! (Supposed to open to international travel on May 17.) I still can't believe I did that. Yes, I'll have to test before leaving and before coming home, but I'm going! I will get to see some people that mean the world to me, and it is completely worth the inconvenience.
