Been told get rid dads car to we buy any car as clutch knackered, feels lsing another part of him so i told mom she can sort it cause not in right mindset. She became angry started shouting at me telling me I'm useless, she don't understand while i have my own car i been driving about in dad's cause feel closer to him, losing the car feels like I'm losing another connection to him. My mom forgot she may lost husband but I've lost a dad. Honestly I'm so low been having suicidal thoughts. Oh, Simon. I am so sorry to hear it. I'm so glad it sounds like you were able to explain things to your mom, at least you've got a fighting chance of being understood. Maybe hanging onto the old clunker awhile for sentimental value especially if it's not likely to fetch much might not be a bad idea? Don't pay any attention to anything trying to make you feel worthless. I know, things will try just because of your challenges, but nobody deserves that. You may never know the difference it made in my life the kindness you showed me when my life was collapsing around me. If that isn't worthwhile, what is? FWIW we love you and worry about you, and are always here for you.

It is a tough situation and I do not not how I will cope with the situation when it arises.
The anger of your mum is understandable... not nice, not good, but I know when I had been in a bad place, I was lashing out at everyone, even once to a person who wanted to be nice and brought me food (which I took as an insult for some strange reason).
So I am sending you hugs.

Summer is finally here. And I cannot express in words how much I look forward to going to the public outdoor pool again, and do my swimming. This was something I had missed dearly in the past 6 months of eternal lockdown. So I was very selfish today and booked myself for early work shifts for the next few days, so I have enough time to go swimming after work. And the weekend is off work! I am so massively relieved. Swimming is one of the things that help me come down when I am stressed. Also, the company doctor booked me in for my second Astra Zeneca shot end of July. This means I might indeed be able to go for a holiday in winter.
Edit: Also looking forward to some nerd exchanges at work tomorrow. We have these epic competitions who has the best nerd stickers on their cars or wears nerdy shirts or hangs some obscure meme at the bulletin board. I now have a "Stark Industries" sticker on my car. And a Stark Industries internship Tshirt.
I am curious how long it takes until someone catches on.

I ordered a second-hand copy of the Doctor Who Magazine our DWS video was in and it arrived this afternoon. It's still a bit unbelievable to see it in there. I haven't told my sister I bought a copy yet, so I'm hoping to surprise her with it next week (She'll have to buy her own copy if she wants a record of it though. I can afford to import one of them, but many more than that and getting DWM to Aus gets expensive )

My guess is that DWM had an advert or feature on an Australian Doctor Who Society club. Buying a physical copy of DWM nowadays is only reserved for special occasions for me as well.

Sorry, in my excitement I didn't really explain myself well (my bad!). I have a YouTube channel with my sister (called Doctor Who Sings, hence "DWS") and we recreate songs using soundbites/clips from Doctor Who. The latest magazine recommends our video for Take On Me (as seen here: youtu.be/j4o-tp4IkCE )

Bravo! How very creative and talented the two of you are!

Thank you for the kind words y friend they mean a lot during a time were emotionally I'm up & down, just don't feel mom letting me grieve thinks i should just sort stuff all the whie but this time i said if want get rid dads car you do it i can't do it at minute i feel he with me in that car but i understand getting rid best as clutch worn & we have my car to use. Love just get away me in a caravan by the sea which i find listening too so peaceful. Always happy to sit and listen as I can. You know your mother better than I would, but to me, it sounds like her desire to get rid of the car might be her way of dealing with it all. Taking the reminders and sending them... *shrugs* away. Doesn't matter where, just somewhere else. That may be how she's processing it. Realistically, though, you can only do what you can do. Just take it a day at a time. Go at your own pace. And, in lieu of a caravan, I can offer a way to bring the sea to the home. Headphones, a comfortable chair and closed eyes. Works for me, hope it works for you. Awesome video this just what i needed, there's just something so calming about the sound of the sea.

My mom can be the kindest, thoughtful woman on the planet she can also be the most scathing selfish & insensitive person on the planet when things don't go her way or she challenged. I think she forgets i lost a dad.

So there was an audit of sorts at my work beginning of last week. Somehow the powers that be forgot (for 1 year!) to include me in certain training sessions so I am "legal" for lack of a better word.. The proverbial hit the fan, there was a mini-meeting.. I was sent a page list of training I need to catchup on this month, then I will have to do it all over again come 1st July, as that is the new financial year etc etc tax purposes yadda yadda.. Today I put my "cloak of invisibility" on so no one would interrupt me, and smashed through 1 years worth of training exercises/modules/scenarios etc. I have a headache. LOLZ

Superb! Not only for the technical skill to do these videos (and in the amazingly short time you mentioned, about 1% of what I'd estimated!) but even more for the Matrix-level of knowledge and memory needed to be able to pull out the right words/scene from the right story just like that. They are completely wonderful.
I've watched several, by no means all so I will visit again, but my favourite for sure is 'Hero'. It's so well done and a lovely tribute to all those great characters and stars (and you put Adam in there too... ) 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'The Power of Love', I could go on. All excellent. And the nerve to do the Elements song, and pull it off! With the subtitles!
Finally I have to give a special mention to the Medley and one song especially which had me hooting with laughter. It's always hilarious (imo) but the Who treatment made it even - err, better. 'I said, young man' you have done brilliantly!

*bows* You're too kind I'm not surprised you didn't watch them all in one go. I think we've made nearly 2 hours worth of content at this point, so it's takes a while to get through them all... I will admit, I think people overestimate just how much we do from memory these days. In the early days we used to do the whole things from memory, but you can probably tell the newer videos are much better than the earlier ones (for starters, not every. single. word. is. a. separate. clip these days ). We've found some alternate means of locating words/phrases that have increased the quality of the videos immeasurably, but we do definitely still think up a fair percentage of each song ourselves. You had to mention The Element Song... It was stupidly fun to put together, but we were very... brave... to attempt it The worst part is that literally 2 days after uploading it I found one of the elements we'd been missing in Terror of the Vervoids! The whole song could also do with a serious overhaul (we've found at least 9 elements that we missed last time). Maybe, if we ever feel that brave again, we'll give it another go... Holding Out for a Hero is definitely pretty high on my list of personal favourites too (and Adam is technically a companion, so it didn't seem right to skip over him. Doesn't mean he's a hero though ).

Pool-season has officially started! Today I went for a swim right after work- is was HEAVEN. I had missed swimming SOOOOOO much. So I swam my 500m (for a start), dried off in the sun with a good book (started "What Abigail did that summer") and then at home watched the sunset from my balcony. It does not get any better than this. Bliss.
