Just went to an outdoor ice cream festival earlier today which was lovely and felt good to be doing something normal and summeryđ There was a lot stalls selling things and I got a really cute steampunk necklace with gears , a Venetian mask, a clock and a dragon fly and said in the center âshe dreams of faraway places and daring adventuresâ.
I also ran into a guy I knew when we were both teenagers back from my summer theatre camp days. I never talked to him much because he was bit of a loner and we kind of hung out in different groups. He always had all the lead roles and was an amazing singer and dancer. Today he was the lead singer of his own rock group, he had a new stage name and was singing original songs and dancing wildly across the stage. I felt bad he didnât have too much of an audience so I stayed and watched and him sing and oddly he was staring directly at me the entire time he was preforming. I got his business card from his table because I wasnât sure at first if he was the guy I knew because he had a different name but I ran into him later and told him how good he was and said how familiar he was and did he go to the same summer camp back in the day and said yes and he remembered me. It was kind of awkward and we both didnât know what to say but it was good to run into him. I didnât flirt with him or anything because I have no clue what his preferences are and I donât want to make any assumptions. It was nice to see him again and I might even try to see one of his other concerts sometime. Apparently he has preformed for President Obama which is pretty amazing, I have a feeling he will probably make it big in a few years time!
Tonight I am going to see an outdoor ballet with some family friends which will be fun! Itâs my first time seeing any live in person theatre since the pandemic started which is excitingđ Itâs very experimental which should be fun! Also I have another rare excuse to get dressed up and I think I am going to wear a neon pink lace summer dress I havenât had too many chances to wear.
Itâs so nice to be doing normal fun summer things again like festivals and theatre again!đ
Edit: I text a friend of mine who also went to the same summer theatre camp in the day and told him I ran into the guy from camp and how he has his own band now and my friend out of curiosity looked him up on social media and apparently the guy does like girlsđ Not sure if I want to pursue anything with the guy but I might go see one of his other concerts and my friend said he would go with me to see the guyâs concert đ

Made #1: Work was so on the ball today that we wrapped an hour early Made #2: We had an appointment no-show, and because of the vax freezer requirements we prepare exactly as many shots as appointments. So one shot left over....hello there, still waiting on my second, stick it in my arm please!

Thereâs a horror movie called Alien? Thatâs really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Back into some strict restrictions (but not a lockdown, at least) as weâve had a COVID case in the community. Iâm concerned because weâre due to travel back to Tasmania later this week to see my father-in-law who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. If things get worse - and judging by the list of places the person went, it probably will do - we may be headed into a proper lockdown or see our borders with other states closed which would make getting home difficult. Iâm sincerely thankful that we havenât had the issues that other places have had or that some of you here have been through.

It's only 06:49 here (have to be at work at 07:30), but definitely feeling the fatigue more this time than I did after the first shot. Went to bed around 9:30pm last night and was probably asleep no later than 10-10:15, but I'm currently feeling like a uni student who's just pulled an all-nighter to finish an essay, and who now has to stay awake till the afternoon class where the paper is to be handed in.

South Australia has just closed ALL it's borders to everyone but Tasmania. An old high school mate of mine owns a few restaurants in Sydney..All are shut down "indefinitely".. It's very annoying when the news reports the pattern of how it's spreading here and the Aust Government are playing "defense" instead of "offense"..

Flip is one of my favourite BF companions. Sad to hear Lisa Greenwood's having a tough time with Covid. Aww, this sucks. I did not know she was affected. I hope this is getting better! And long COVID is excruciating. Our company Doctor (who is also a normal GP) has two twenty- something young people who are now basically invalid. Here in my small town. If that is not heartbreaking and scary, I do not know what is.

Morning into early afternoon: gradually increasing fatigue and general muscle aches (still felt like after an all-nighter). Mild fever heading into mid afternoon, faint cough Mid-late afternoon after a nap: holy FEVER. Felt like heatstroke/heat exhaustion it was so intense. Mild cough continues. One nostril slightly plugged but clearing. Body aches and general fatigue significantly reduced Early evening: Fever still present but largely broken. Cough becoming more frequent. Runny nose. Mild but persistent headache

My sister even had 40 degrees of fever (mine was not as bad). At work, we space out our vaccination appointments so not the whole team is home sick recovering all at once. Luckily, I seem to be the worst affected of the whole team, I have one colleague who had no issues at all.
Already have planned at least one sick day after my second shot end of July.

I have a patient with back pain (quite a few, actually) and I mentioned that we might put her on spinal traction. She called it "the rack" and I agreed that's what we called it. She says, "When I think of the rack I think of an old Doctor Who episode where he gets put on the rack and pulled by drying vines." I laughed and told her that yes, I know it. Then she adds," I think that's Romana 2". I smiled broadly and corrected her. Nope, Romana 1! We talked briefly about liking classic Who, then she asks if I've ever heard of Blake's 7. I pulled out my phone, opened up my BF app and told she should check it out. It was great!

This forum makes my day. There's another BF one that I lurk at but haven't posted there for a few years now. Popped on to see what was up and the whole place is imploding with many ready to abandon it out of frustration. Very glad to have this place and group as a low-key, enjoyable (and sane!) option.

Ah yes. Over zealous moderation can kill a forum, glad the mods here are exceptionally superb in my experience

England's 2-0 win over Germany, finally a bit of passion & flare shown. I thought we were crap mostly. Defensive all the time. How many times did we pass it back to the goalie? Oh well, a wins a win.

England's 2-0 win over Germany, finally a bit of passion & flare shown. You deserve it. No idea why some of our best offensive players were sitting on the bench watching the game, but I am of course not very good with soccer tactics. Must have been a secret plan that backfired.
