Right, so you are basically repeating the mistakes everybody else made? Humanity is doomed. I think of this video in great migrations where all the wildebeest run into the river, crocs taking them out left right and centre, but still they keep on coming....
I'm a croc not a wildebeest. So, now I can't get the image out of my head of you lying in wait in front of the soccer stadium ambushing unsuspecting hooligans.... wearing one of these inflatable dinosaur costumes....

Oh, are these people still around? There is to hope they don't start wearing masks and the problem solves itself.... (sarcasm)

I just had a VERY big laugh. Disclaimer: Germans in general are VERY direct. And I have been known to never be shy of an honest opinion. Anyways. I just posted on one of my German pop- culture Facebook groups that I just started a fandom related point-and -click game and I was positively impressed. I was impressed by the love for detail and by the energy of the original actors, but especially by all the meta-jokes and fourth-wall breaking and the actors really going to town with this. I was NOT aware that the author of said game was a member of said Facebook group. So I get an answer by the author that he is very happy that people like me were around who understood all the meta-jokes. Well.... as I said, I had no idea this guy was on the group. If I had been aware, I would NOT have started my post with "I have avoided the games so far, because they appeared to be cheap-looking crap." Oups. As my colleagues say, I am not known for my subtlety.

P.S. I finished book #1 last night, haven't read it since the 80's

Oh I totally forgot to tell you about that work incident yesterday! My lab company we have a branch in the UK and I am charged with helping them out and explaining things to them. So yesterday this lovely lady calls up in desperate need of help. Had a lovely Northern accent. Thanks to BF I am getting really good at English accents! So I explain things to her and I also tell her how happy I was we talked instead of endless emails. I told her this was great and so much more efficient. Then I said „ Oups I must sound very German“ She laughs and says in a totally straight voice „ No it‘s fine I am a great fan of efficiency“ My colleagues were rolling on the floor laughing. I think I found a new friend. Told her she needs to come over as soon as this Covid madness is over so I can show things properly. Also, by now I expect a letter of commendation from the Chancellor any day now. For most German cliche person of the week.

This has been a pretty tough week for me, but there has finally been a bright spot. My nephew's wife had baby #3 yesterday. A little boy, who is yet another baby born to my family in the past 6 years all with names of Doctor Who Companions. None of the parents of these children are Doctor Who fans. We have: Jamie, Ryan, Charlie, Zoey, Leela (yes we actually have a Leela) and now we welcome Adam, No, not the best companion. He didn't make it past one trip in the Tardis, but he still counts in the pantheon of Doctor Who names.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Well, my niece and nephew (of my totally NOT nerd sister) are called "Luke" and "Lea". I feel a strong force of compansation. Yay, another weekend off work! (I had swabbed duties with my colleague) Weather forecast is pretty bad (cool and wet) so I will have time for reading, playing puzzle games on my IPad and listening to some audios. There is no bad weather. Just an insufficient plan B. But I have to say weather worldwide has absolutely gone crazy. While half of Europe is burning to the ground with nearly 50 degrees of heat, the other half is drowning in the worst floods in decades. In South America, snow and ice are destroying coffee plantations. The rainforests are on fire. Half of Russia is on fire. This is getting out of control.

Are you sure he wasn’t a space hero akin to Flash Gordon who decided to retire from his life of adventuring to take up work as a Physics teacher?

Are you sure he wasn’t a space hero akin to Flash Gordon who decided to retire from his life of adventuring to take up work as a Physics teacher? He may have been operating incommunicado as part of that eccentric Trion solicitor's program based in London. *taps nose* My (art) history lessons were taught for a time by a Miss Wright, who may have come the same way. She was the one who submitted my first published article to a magazine (long, long time ago now). I've still got the letter from her somewhere.

She will have been christened before the new series revival of interest, so its possible one of her parents was an old school fan. I never embarrassed her by asking of course.
