Ian McIlhenny is a great addition. He's got one of those genre careers that just felt like he'd be in the show eventually. Barristan Selmy was easily one of the best things about Game Of Thrones.

It'd would be nice if some indication of when the next series will arrive came out of it. Given that they started shooting last January for broadcast this January, and that they've already got the next Xmas/New Year's Special in the can, I'm expecting another gap. The question is, how long. Autumn-Winter 2021 I've seen mooted by a few people who usually know more about these things. What months does that fall in?

Something like the early October start we saw for S11, I'd imagine. We know from as far back as Moffat saying so in one of his last DWM columns, the BBC had a 5 year plan for Who from when he left which dovetails nicely into anniversary time. While that kind of talk is too soon for us...it's not for the BBC to know is Chibnall going to still be there, is Jodie leaving before that, if so when is she going etc etc. Even if things aren't carved in stone, they'll want an idea for schedules, comissions, budgets etc.

What if we get to the Mary Shelley episode and it turns out to be a surprise multi Doctor story with the 8th Doctor? 🤔😉 After all it would not be the first time we have had a surprise character 😉

That's interesting, I thought it was the same vid...but the Twitter (and FB) one is cropped and in focus so it looks like an Invasion Cyber, then the Youtube one is panned out so you see it's a redesign that looks like The Invasion faces with new bodies. I wonder why there's two different versions? To go with the theme of "what's going on?" or...did someone release the wrong final edit? vs Why the worry over the final line?

Loose a couple of Companions, Our Doctor gets replaced with Ruth. Only hope for fixing it is Master and Jack unite to defeat Ruth, this restores Our Doctor, not the companions. Twist is Our Doc now has both theirs and Ruth's memories and goes Mad. Regards mark687

Basically clash of the titans.
However, I cannot really believe in the Doctor going "mad". We already had that in Hell Bent and at least I like to pretend that never happened.

Those new Cybermen look amazing (both types)! While I'm a little trepidatious about what they're going to do with the finale (I'm okay with a certain level of retcon but I firmly believe there's a point of too much change), I've also got a really good feeling about it

I like to imagine it's the story he had in mind as fan fic for what Doctor Who "should" be when he was on screen aged 16 telling Pip n Jane how bad Terror Of The Vervoids was.

As long as they do not use the Vervoid story as a bar to be measured against.... Well, According to some definition, NuWho has been fan fiction since inception. This just serves as proof. Just hope you are right. And this does not fall in the same pitfalls fan fiction often does. The amazing episodes of this series hinge very much on the resolution. This could be amazing. Or, one shudders, not.
