Watching 'The Five Doctors' 35 years since first broadcast. Special Edition. I've definitely seen this story more than any other because it was the first I ever home videoed way back in 1983. And I never tire of it: splendid viewings, all of them.
( 35 years! I'm starting to sympathise more with Borusa about the whole wanting immortality thing... )

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I have a mate in a band who are releasing a single at one of my favourite pubs, so I might hoist one to the Doctor between sets.

I decided to go with the most recent anniversary special - The Day of the Doctor. If nothing else, it was great to get pulled back five years to when my life was a lot easier and just get to enjoy myself for an hour or so As some others have mentioned above, this is a show that acts as a support for many of its fans, and I for one am also grateful to it

Hello again.
Happy Doctor Who day everyone! 55 years and counting.
Today while making tea, I listened to 1963: Fanfare for the Common Men. Superb. My favourite Davison audio story. The dry Liverpudlian humour, the jigsaw puzzle of a story and the Beatlesque songs.
They could have done this story on the television. Hope everyone enjoys whatever slice of wonderful Who they've chosen to listen or watch.

( 35 years! I'm starting to sympathise more with Borusa about the whole wanting immortality thing... ) Definitively my 'Desert Island Discs' choice. That and Pyramids of Mars actually, which I watched again this week, are the two stories i would choose if i had to part with the rest. Still have the off air from 1983 too and never tire of it either (via DVD now though). Prefer broadcast over 'special edition' mind, primarily as the music track was perfect first time round.

Watched The Five Doctors and The Stolen Earth, it was the best way I could think of to see as many great Doctor Who characters as possible watching two stories, but they're wonderful stories too. (I think Nu Who might be aging well given a bit more objectivity, I enjoyed The Stolen Earth more than ever and I think it probably even boosted my appreciation of some of the characters).
Thinking of putting myself to bed early and trying to watch An Unearthly Child and whatever else happens to grab my fancy as particularly appropriate if some chore or other doesn't get in the way. That's okay though, nobody says it has to be only a one-day celebration. :-)
