Well, that was fun-enough Worth it? Yes! I really enjoyed this set. It is definitely on the dark side since she is going through all of these worlds dying trying to find the Doctor. We know she's done this from Turn Left. I'm interested in seeing more of these stories. This format opens up the DW universe and allows for so many stories that in the end will not have any effect on overall continuity. It's a Rose Tyler Unbound universe, and this set just touches the surface of what can be done. It was great. {Spoiler} I loved the name drop of Donna Noble. Really adored it.

Well that’s good .Was a bit worried by the lack of response on here that it might be a dud.But will get towards end of this month after I get through some relistens and my Bernice and Companion releases .Thank you

I kind of feel like it never added up to the sum of its parts, but I did enjoy all four hours and have no regrets about buying it.

Same here, to be honest. I did enjoy it, but I just feel they could have done more with the arc... {Spoiler} Like giving it a 'proper' conclusion or hinting that they may have found a trace of The Doctor

It was okay, but I'm not sure I'd jump on a volume two. Personally I found the last episode to be the weakest - doesn't help that I'm not a huge fan of Jackie.

I’m really enjoying this set, far more than I thought I would. Considering I was planning on skipping it, only getting it in a pre price increase scramble.
I’ve never been a fan of rose, but big finish has taken her back from the green eyed monster she was at her peak.
I’ve always been fond of multiverse shenanigans and while we know the threat established in journeys end is coming, this sets keeps its focus o its core cast.
I’m concerned about the ranges future, considering we know how this particular arc ends for rose. But never the less, I’d be willing to pick up a second set.

It needn’t necessarily end and there could be a future with an alternate cast being built up of strong characters that she meets. the Unbound Universes are ripe for the picking and as seen with The Benny and David sets a lot can be done without being TRAPPED by the continuity of “Our”Doctors Universe.

I have to say I'm not a big fan of Jackie Tyler either, and if I'm totally honest, I loved Rose until she 'came back' and then I totally went off her. I think it would have been better had she just stayed away.

Well, this was lovely and different, wasn’t it? It’s got RTD’s thoughts and influence all over it. Big ideas that get very dark, but also give you a good laugh just when it’s needed. It’s rather like his recent Years and Years actually, which I imagine he was in the middle of when he consulted over The Dimension Cannon. The Flood was my favourite of the set; Lisa McMullin is great. I did think The Endless Night had a rocky 10 minutes to start with, as it dabbled between universes and tried to set the backstory up, but it soon hit its stride. I think that’s just an attempt at recreating a very visual sequence on audio. The world building of each story is very good. I think it helps that each setting is somewhat familiar to us, but goes in its own direction. Billie Piper is in her element here. I think she suits the post-Doomsday Rose much better nowadays. I’d love for her to be on narration duties as The Moment in a War Doctor set. The rest of the main cast are great, each given the opportunity to shine. Shaun Dingwall is better than the trailer would suggest, where his delivery is so slow; the scene in the set is the only example of it. The music and sound design is a highlight. They feel very tailored to the set and take inspiration from beats of themes we Doctor Who fans are all familiar with. To this day I’m always surprised when Joe Kraemer is involved; he composed a Mission Impossible film! So, after all this praise, why is it that I felt the whole set didn’t really reach its potential? I think my main issue is there’s no ending to the set. There’s no lead-in to Turn Left or even a suggestion that they’ve found a trace of the Doctor. And I found that frustrating. Each of the main cast had their own story and The Last Party on Earth seems the closest Rose finds to our universe, with its portrayal being very similar to that of the pre-titles of The Stolen Earth. We have these four brilliant stories that build up towards something that’s not delivered. I can’t see much mileage in a future set because we’ve heard it all already, with parallel universes on the brink of extinction. The four stories in this set deliver that in different ways, without overstaying its welcome. I can’t help but feel this should’ve been a self-contained one-off. The above criticism doesn’t reflect badly on any one of the stories, but it does stop me from thinking this set is a top drawer Big Finish release, sadly. It’s a great release, but just misses the mark in its closing 5 minutes. As Digi put it: it never quite added up to the sum of its parts. I think that’s a shame.

I really enjoyed the set, I liked that it was a little more darker than your average Who, and Billie (and the rest of the cast!) was on top form. I think my main issue is that like shallacatop, there's no lead in to Turn Left or anything, it just... stops. The last episode doesn't feel like any big finale or anything, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it just kind of ends without any fanfare of any sort. But still, I liked the fact that The Flood gave a reason as to how Rose finds out about Donna, and why she goes looking for her during Turn Left.
My only main criticism of the set is that it feels like there's a Mickey-shaped hole to me. He's mentioned plenty enough (though, I don't think there was any explanation as to where he was?), but then turns up with Jackie in The Stolen Earth. Seems like a missed opportunity not to include him.

It allows for the idea that Rose has to look hard before she finds the right Earth. That she may have do go through dozens of worlds, all facing annihilation, so that when she finally does find Donna the stakes have become that much higher. It also allows for more windows for us listeners into those worlds. But I do agree with that gaping Mickey-shaped hole. If there is another set I really hope they can get Noel Clarke in to do it. (And maybe a set with Freema, since she's now part of the BF family!)

It also allows for more windows for us listeners into those worlds. I buy into that and I understand where you’re coming from. I’m not sure that I really took that away from the set, though. The arc, or rather the central concept of the set, doesn’t build up throughout. Each parallel universe is well defined, but it’s just a series of what-ifs. If it wasn’t for Clive making it through, then each story would be a reset, like we’re revisiting the world hopping for the very first time. I think the stakes are that much higher as soon as she’s experienced it at least four times over. I certainly didn’t get bored whilst listening, but I think it’s a concept that could easily get repetitive, thus my criticism about no lead-in to Turn Left, or even any progress towards finding the Doctor.

I don’t think there was an issue as such. Someone asked Noel Clarke on Twitter why he wasn’t in it and he replied to say he wasn’t asked. It could be that Big Finish didn’t want to use the character, so didn’t ask, or they did reach out to his agent and they declined on his behalf. It wouldn’t be the first time, or the last.
If it is indeed the latter and Big Finish are aware that Noel wasn’t approached, then they might well try to contact him directly and take it from there, should they have a reason to use Mickey.
