I love the little things that Purves and Hines are doing with their hands while they perform. Looking very much forward to this one. David K. Barnes for another story after The Dalek Occupation of Winter and a multi-Doctor encounter to boot. Sign me up! I wonder what the Daleks are up to...? Great isn't it! They've both talked on interview tracks about performing the characteristic gestures of their Doctors - the small hand movements that both used (good for TV closeups of course !)
Answer: The Daleks are up to no good, obviously!
Absolutely marvellous. It's great to see them in the booth together playing off one another. I do like that as an answer. I love the composition of the cover, how there's something behind the Black Dalek causing a ruckus, but I can't quite see what. ("NOTHING TO SEE HERE. MOVE AWAY.") Kind of makes me wonder if this is going to be a prelude for Master Plan, of sorts, or a sequel? If it's the former, I'm really liking the progression of Dalek encounters: between Across the Darkened City, The Dalek Invasion of Winter and, potentially, this, there's this real sense of forboding to the Doctor's adventures at this point.

That nod to Dad's Army on the Home Guard cover is terrific.

I like both covers, but I especially love Daughter of the Gods. I'm wondering if they're going to splice the two 60's logos together for the retro cover? That'd be pretty cool to see

Agreed, superb covers!
"Now, pay attention platoon to the cover of 'The Home Guard' while I point out two important details you might have overlooked, but they're quite obvious to the eagle eye of the trained observer." "The Union Jack headed arrows here and here" *taps board with swagger stick* "straight from the title sequence of 'Dad's Army'!"
"Permission to speak sir! Sgt. Davy showed us those arrows five minutes ago previously, and already, while you were typing sir."
"Haha yes very good, well done. I was just testing you, Sergeant..."

I just hope Jamie says "We're all doomed!" and I could see Two saying "I wonder if I might be excused?"

I'd assumed that 'The Home Guard' would be a serious take on the era (with 'Heroes of Sontar' having done the 'Dad's Army' jokes anyway) but having seen the cover I wonder if I was a 'stupid boy' to think they wouldn't reference Captain Mainwaring and co. at least a little bit.
(Walmington-on-Sea number one platoon of the WWII Home Guard, responsible for the defence of the south coast "from the Jolly Roger Amusement Arcade to the Novelty Rock Emporium" for 70+ episodes on the BBC in the 60s/70s, for anyone from an alternate universe who doesn't know what we're on about! )

I'm so excited for Daughter of the Gods. And that cover! Surprised Katarina's so far off to the side, though.

Wow, those are some great covers. I am looking forward to both stories, they both sound like fun and I really enjoy Frazer Hines. Sadly (happily?) I still have a lot of catching up to do with the first Doctor, so I am not sure how that part of it measures up. And I also have not heard the episode with the new Master /Dreyfus... is he any good? What type of Master is he playing? Oh, that just brings me to something I wanted to ask for a while... how does this new Master fit in the time line when we first hear that the Master has taken that name much later in Terror of the Autons? (you can spoiler me, I do not mind)

Hello again.
What a lovely idea to have a fifth anniversary special. I like how both Peter Purves and Frazer Hines interpret their respective Doctors. It will also be interesting to see how futuristic Zoe deals with a companion from even further back than Jamie.
As for the Dreyfus Master, I have not encountered him yet, mind you, I haven't heard the McQueen Master either! The story summary sounds interesting.
However, we are saving for a second-hand car at present. It will have to be a Delboy classic but we are spending a fortune on bus fares and taxis. It's sad that it's actually cheaper to use a taxi than the bus on some journeys. So it will be a couple of years before I catch up.
I am still working through my McCoy marathon so I'm okay! I still can't believe it's 50 years since the War Games and nearly 30 years since the final McCoy season.

Both covers look amazing. With any additional promos/sales, I think the next few months will be quite expensive!

(you can spoiler me, I do not mind) Yes, he's very good and he's a very different Master - or at least he was...
{Spoiler} The Master does something reckless with Time and his TARDIS in that story and, combined with what the Doctor does with him at the end, I wonder if that accounts for the transformation from 'reckless criminal genius' in that 1DAs story to the Master we know - an out-and-out megalomaniac. (I know the new TV series explained his mental state by early reaction to the vortex, but that didn't fit with the Master in the 1DAs.)
I'll be very interested to see how he is in this story but (no spoilers) he's unlikely to be in a good mood when he catches up with the Doctor...

Answer: The Daleks are up to no good, obviously! And we wouldn't have it any other way! Naturally! The idea of a good Dalek? Ridiculous notion, they'd never do that in a story would they?!

And we wouldn't have it any other way! Except what if the Daleks were up to good? That could be an interesting story. There was one, a long time ago in 'another place'... {Spoiler}Unbound 8: 'The Masters of War' qualifies I think? By Dalek standards of 'good' anyway. And yes it is utterly brilliant.

Except what if the Daleks were up to good? That could be an interesting story. Malorie Blackman wrote that! Scott Gray too, in a story called Children of the Revolution. Yup, those children and that revolution. After the destruction of the City, they had to go somewhere...
