Trawling back through the Website there's been a Post Price every 4 years (so this one got delayed probably through COVID as was the pricing review between CD and DL) just back luck they've hit at the same time and [unlike other other times} we've not had a clear heads up this time on postage changes certainly, to organize purchasing strategy so we can we're always being cost-effective (more so the overseas buyers). BTW 40+ Hour after the Postage Prices change still no BF Official comment about it on their Social Media or Website News PieceRegards mark687 "Hey boss! You know we we're forced to put postage prices up to match DHL:? How about we start an argument about it on Twitter, too?!>?"

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I think it far more likely that someone in the office has saidf "Hey boss, you know the price DHL chartges us has sky rocketed these past couple of yhears, and we haven't increased the cost to the customer? How about we stop making a loss on it?" It was mentioned on the podcast a couple of years ago - it may even have been on the occasion of the last increase in postage - that they were making a loss on postage. I’ve been really tempted to buy some physical copies of a few things but the postage, plus Australia’s import charges (the “Gerry Harvey tax” as we call it here), make that a definite no.

So I just purchased 4 "Star Cops" boxsets.. It just occurred to me- with the advertising for "1A Mother Earth Part 1" it says :
"WAS AUS $29.99
NOW FROM AUS $17.49"
I wish they would clarify this is for the Download only option, also maybe show the "Was vs Now" marketing advertising for the CD option, it is slightly cheaper because I checked them out coincidentally at the beginning of the week.
Would help to have just a tiny bit more clarity/trust provided to the customers.

Well that isn’t a drastic change for me unless the Canadian dollar drops massively. Currently a 20$ boxset on download now becomes 26ish for me, so it’s manageable but I won’t be as much going forward.

I've never been so interested in making the Canadian dollar stronger. Do I have to get into politics or banking or something?

One thing I would say is that the UK pound is a lot lower recently than it has been for a long time. Which lessens the blow of Big Finish stopping 1:1 for overseas. The price change shock would have been considerably greater some months ago. I do wonder if Big Finish have been watching that move.
As a UK customer I’m afraid I’ve found downloads over costly for a long time, especially with no resale value. It’s why I almost always buy CDs, and sell on those that I won’t listen to again. I am lucky that I don’t have to pay overseas posting and per order charges.
Whatever I think this change should have been announced with more warning for overseas customers.

Ahh bugs, I converted from Euro… Though wasn’t the announcement from a few months ago saying that November would bring prince increases for all releases November onwards, not the new conversion policy.

I think that just makes it a double whammy. And, given that I’ve been a download customer, and the prices are going up to almost the same as the + CD prices… this will definitely make me rethink whether to buy anything for the foreseeable. 🤷🏻♂️
Everything has gotten far more expensive recently. So it may just be the occasional purchase from now on unless the AUD performs better.
Well, at least we know the damage now.

Well, we did have 3 year warning period.... I remembering asking Jason personally about it at the convention in 2019, and he said "soon". So I consider myself sufficiently warned....
Oh well. It was great while it lasted. Have now 20 things in my account on pre-order for the next 12 month period, that should keep me going. Everything else will have to be decided if reviews are good.

Pray the UK Conservatives stay in power a little longer, if there is one thing they seem to be good at it is causing the pound to lose value compared to other currencies.. That said, I wish we had a political party worth voting for here in Canada. I think we may need to risk electing a Rhino government.

Complaint filed (ie: emailed Enquiries).
I don't expect anything will change, but it never hurts to tell a business that they've done something absurd (so long as you say it nicely) and that their total lack of communication is deeply unprofessional (again, so long as you say it nicely).

In anticipation of the impending price increase, I refrained from buying $250 usd worth of BF from my “try new things” list (this list used to have ATA Girl, Terrahawks, & Cicero, all of which I bought last year on a whim, & were great). It’s closer to $500 usd saved if one counts the 2 huge series that have been on my list for a long while but didn’t buy.
So that’s around 5 to 8 bundles worth, depending on whether it’s a 2 volume or 4 volume bundle. That ought to be a good enough buffer for now in case any of my instabuy series get announced in the next few months. & I can buy it from the “savings” of not being too impulsive this year.
Meanwhile, will listen through the backlog. 🙂 & await the release dates of my 57 preorders.

So I checked the new prices this morning.... as they are now, compared to Euro. It is certainly.... interesting (or maybe "weird" might be a better word). So now the price increases, when looking at different releases, vary between 31 Euro cents and 9,58 Euro, most gone up 3.07 to 4.19 Euro. Feels unfamiliar to look at this.
It certainly is very weird seeing things that were priced THE SAME yesterday having increased at different rates.

Catching up with yesterday's events..and wondering yet again how a company that produces dozens of hours of quality audio product a year and can be so good on one on one customer service can be so unbelievably ham-fisted when it comes to the bigger picture.
Sympathies to those affected by the overseas price change with 24 hours notice, and those who spent a fortune preordering to beat a price increase thats now happening on an ad hoc basis..
