I bought Alien Mind/Dalek Soul. Half way through the first episode. Another dull Stephen Cole story.

Wow, cool. I already got the Sixie release and enjoyed that one. And of the other two, one story each sounds intriguing. So I picked the 5th and 7th Doctor stories up.

By the way- has anybody else noticed something odd when you buy these?
I think there is a glitch in the system (they really have to do some more bug-hunting with this new website).
I did NOT pay 6.49 Euroes as was advertised, but 90 cent LESS at 5.59 Euroes per release. Of course I am up for saving money, but I am not sure if that was intentional?

Sadly, I have all these as they were part of my MR subscription when they were first released (still waiting for BF to do a sale so I can fill my gaps between 150-200!!!).
All of them are generally quite good releases and I can see why they would be 'ideal' stepping on points for the casual listener. Each story has enough in it to keep the listener entertained but not enough for a fully fledged 4 parter (or even 3 for some of them). There is some good ideas here and it is great to see Flip solo again with Sixie and Hex back with Seven.
Dalek Soul is great - it is nice to hear Davison playing a baddie for a change!! He really isn't a pleasant character in this one - always reminds of what would have happened had this incarnation become the Valeyard...
Vortex Ice is also a nice little story that repays several listens (an update on the Space Museum),

And what a fantastic premise it is! Weirdly, Davison can do proper menace in a way few earlier Doctors could. I can't imagine "evil Troughton" working like this, and "evil Tom" never quite convinced.

A quick little sale to see how the web site performs with added business?

A quick little sale to see how the web site performs with added business? I guess so (but seeing as some mobile device users are needing to reinstall the APP to make sure they've been added to their Accounts), I'm wondering how successful its proving.

If they are identifying those kinds of issues I would say very successful.

And what a fantastic premise it is! Weirdly, Davison can do proper menace in a way few earlier Doctors could. I can't imagine "evil Troughton" working like this, and "evil Tom" never quite convinced. True!! Outside of the DW Universe, Davison has played some pretty grotty characters in other dramas (Midsomer Murders, Vera and Marple if memory serves) and comes across quite convincing as an utterly deplorable person. However, it's a rare casting as he is usually a more pleasant character in the roles he has taken on. I always wondered if Sixie's decision to be more abrasive was a deliberate reaction to the perceived 'niceness' of his Fifth Incarnation. A throwaway line in Year of the Pig (just finishing off this undiscovered gem) makes it clear that Sixie didn't think much of his previous incarnation and there are hints elsewhere that Sixie thinks the Fifth is a 'bit too good to be true'. Not sure about 'Evil Troughton' - however, the Second Doctor could be just as sneaky and manipulative as the Seventh. The Second Doctor was also a skilled manipulator, in his own way, and covered his intelligence with a similar 'clowning' act. His manipulation of the entire situation in Tomb of the Cybermen shows that - he inadvertently 'gives' Klieg the idea to open the Tombs, quietly turning events to his favour...
