Wow! What a collection of great stories that is! No less than eight of my top favorite Fifth Doctor releases appear on that list.

Huh I was just looking over my collection and realised I didn’t have much five stuff, so this is well timed.

I really hope this is in anticipation of the box set announcement. And in other ways: YES!!!!!!!
I am so happy to be able to plunge all these gaps. And they almost all have NYSSA!!!
The last time they did a sale like this I not only was still doing cds but the only way to make the set affordable was by rebuying the box set.
I hate the fact that we don't seem to have 'the collected xx Doctor" sections anymore but I noticed the box set has been rebranded as volume 1.
About a year or two back they said although they planned to keep the monthly range they wanted all of the Doctors to have a box set(s) a year in addition.
With Jodie and Paul and now even Tom all showing me fantastic new stories Peter is still my favourite but sometimes I am just as likely to be excited by Nyssa. And although I am not necessarily a fan of Tegan I am fast becoming a fan of Janet Fielding.
She really is doing some amazing things with the scripts she gets and pccasionally reminds me of early Barbara in regards to someone who will always confront the Doctor and is not particularly excited by travelling with him.
Nyssa has really become my favourite companion. Up until the most recent Early adventures I would say she was the most developed of all the classic companions but BF is really upping their game.

Seems that BF don't want me to spend money this week - have got all these, sadly.
A great range of stories here and a good run for the Fifth Doctor. If I'm honest, The Moonflesh trilogy isn't particularly brilliant (generic Season 20 springs to mind) but isn't awful. There are some interesting ideas - Tomb Ship is quite an interesting concept, but nothing that will take your breath away.
Mistfall is a clunker and is definitely not the best story that BF have released. Certainly, a real weak story. Equilibrium onwards is just brilliant - this story (and The Entropy Plague) are great political pieces as well (especially as they were released in the run up to the 2015 General Election). I always found the idea of a 'balancer' trying to 'level' the kingdom and keep equilibrium to be a subtle dig at a certain Chancellor of the Exchequer (I always pictured the character as Osbourne-esqe) and the darker Entropy Plague a good tale of what happens when order and charity breakdown.
The Waters of Amsterdam trilogy is excellent. Certainly, The Peterloo Massacre (like The Secret History) are standouts here and undermine Davison's claim that his Doctor shouldn't 'do' historical. The Peterloo Massacre is really worth listening to - particularly with the 200th Anniversary of the incident coming up. Ironically, just like The Secret History, the style of the Peterloo Massacre is very much like Hartnell and works superbly well on audio.
Nice to see Turlough and the Fifth Doctor back in The Memory Bank, but I would have preferred a single 4 parter. If I'm honest, I can take or leave the anthology stories - only Time In Office has really been a stand out for me.
Great chance to plug some gaps. Equilibrium onwards (and The Starmen and Kingdom of Lies trilogies) are a great set of stories for Davison and, for me at least, made me reassess his Doctor. He certainly gives Colin Baker a run for his money in these. Highly recommended and I hope the forthcoming trilogy gets Davison's Doctor back on this good form!

If you haven't heard it before, I'll vouch for The Secret History. It's an absolute joy. It's fun to hear the Doctor and his "new" companions in a "widescreen audio" style historical. The leads share a remarkable chemistry and Purves and O'Brien's performances in a Main Range story seem effortless - it's easy to picture them as they were in the 1960s alongside the Fifth Doctor.

Although I am excited to finally listen to all 3 of the trilogy Secret History is amazing as a stand alone too. It's a shame they only doubled up on the Concept with Colin. Davison has wonderful chemistry with his fellow Peter and Maureen. In all honesty although the Colin and Jamie stories are fun and Sylvester and Katie are a hoot Peter seems to have the best chemistry with classic companions. I'd love to see him with Polly again too.

I'm not the biggest Fifth Doctor fan but there are some fantastic stories with him in this sale. I wholeheartedly recommend Fanfare for the Common Men, The Waters of Amsterdam, Aquitaine, The Peterloo Massacre, and The Fifth Doctor Boxset.

Only this and the Entropy Plague from this sale that I do not have. Skipped last weeks 2 part trilogy offer, but these two will now mean I only have to get 7 stories by doctor 7, in order to complete the first 200 MR. Pleased to have the rest already - including some the best 5th Doctor Audio's I have heard to date, namely the Adric Box set, 1963 Fanfare, and the Amsterdam/Peterloo/Aquitaine trilogy. Really need to be saving the pennies right now, so not the time for anything other than the occasional deal.

I never knew he said that. Silly man. When did he say this? He doesn't like Black Orchid but he's repeatedly said he likes ones set in history, especially ones where the plots ends up providing an explanation for famous events. I remember reading this somewhere in a book that detailed the history of the TV show/its different stories. However, I know the book the quote came from was published some time before BF started releasing the monthly adventures, so it might be that Davison has changed his mind on this (or was misquoted by the book). I also recall that Davison's dislike of Black Orchid was the reason why JNT didn't continue with these style of historical stories for a while (the notable exceptions being their revival for the Seventh Doctor). It might be that some commentators on the show have put two and two together and made five. Personally, I think that was a shame as the historical adventures are usually better than some of the more futuristic ones and play to the BBC's strength in period/historical dramas.
