Two more entries from one of my favourite ranges, marvellous. Guy Adams looks to be script editing Nightmare Country and John Dorney caretaking The Ultimate Evil, so it'll be interesting to see what their respective influences bring to each story. Also, the compositing on those covers is fantastic.

So considering Dorney is script editing Ultimate Evil, I assume this was the nostalgic gap he was talking about. The Lost Story that got away and such.

I broke down and got it.
Like I wasn't going to in the first place.

Easy pre-order for me. I'm very curious about both of these stories.

Very good to see more life from the Lost Stories range. New pre-orders for November would be getting ahead of myself but these both went straight on my wishlist.
(Well, actually one went on the wishlist as a placeholder since I can't figure out how to put a bundle or a sub on my wish list, lol, but I'm trying not to have any more complaints about the new site. It might be a bit awkward sometimes but I think it's mainly doing the job. There might even be ways to do that and I just don't know it).

The thing is, I read the novelisation back 30 years ago and I know it's not very good, but I'm still mega excited about it anyway. Can't quite understand why, but I definitely am!
Maybe it's because Dorney is script editing and it will be improved ... maybe because it will be a brief return trip to my childhood ... don't really know.
I just hope the reversible cover has the same white background as all the other Lost Stories.
I would be interested to read a review of the 5th/6th Lost Stories by Eric Saward to learn what he thought of them. Maybe the new DWM interview will touch on this?
Can I also say, I don't know what it is specifically, but since the site revamp it's been extremely satisfying to go and look at who's script edited what. It's been nice to see the magician(s) behind the curtain, if only briefly.

Update: Messaged Dorney on Twitter. Yes, this was the nostalgic story he was talking about!

Still on the fence about whether I'll be able to spend just a bit more money to get it, after all the other money I've spent.

That's exciting news! I know nothing about the two stories (and I'll wait to find out when I hear them) but I have a very soft spot for the 'Lost Stories' because this was the range which got me seriously into BF after TLATE was my first buy.
I'd collected and heard most of the Sixth and Fifth Doctor lost stories * before I bought any of the MR; impressed doesn't even begin to describe it - the 'feel' of hearing a TV story was so strong, I was hooked! Great to have a couple more coming out in this 20th year. (With these and two Early Adventures, November will be quite a month.)
* EDIT: And of course the outstanding Fourth and First Doctor Box Sets which I think were my second and third ever BF purchases.

Very similar here, The Lost Stories were my first Big Finish sale after I started listening to DW audios and I bought the whole range as a bundle.

The only thing that's a downer for me is that this current bundle is only for two stories. On the other hand, I feel rather glad that it even exists, because I was under the impression that someone at BF had said that they'd run the well dry as far as this series was concerned.

I had been thinking about BF for a long time before I took the plunge and Lost Stories Season 1 had a special discounted price of you ordered before a certain date and that was the tipping point for me.

Hello again.
Oooh The Ultimate Evil, I enjoyed the Target adaptation. Unfortunately, it lost out to Vengeance on Varos which was a great story. Sil and the baddie from this were spookily similar.
I'm sure that the Lost Stories team will bring Wally K. Daly's ideas to life. I enjoyed his work such as Orphans in Waiting, Nightmare World and an interesting trilogy called Before the Screaming Begins which featured Patrick Troughton and Maureen O' Brien. All of which were broadcast on BBC Radio 7 in the nineties.

Hello again.
Steve Gallagher's Warrior's Gate is a memorable story. The haunting music, the creepy and disappearing Tharils, the mirror and the axe-wielding Gunduns and then losing Romana and K9 in such a truly noble way had an impact on my five year old self.
Watching it almost exactly 40 years later still enchanted me with Gallagher's multi-layered story, great acting and effective visuals and direction from Paul Joyce.
It will be interesting to see this new Dr Who movie transferred to the audio medium and with Tegan and Turlough. I didn't enjoy Terminus, so hopefully this will be a treat. Although, Nyssa's exit using her scientific knowledge to help others is a brilliant companion leaving idea.

I play around a lot with audio/video editing software in my spare time and just as an experiment, I took a layer of VHS noise and spliced it in under one of the tracks for The Nightmare Fair. I managed to trick my brain into going back to sitting on the carpet watching a 4:3 television set. Catch me when I'm not paying attention and I can remember it as: "Oh, yeah, the picture quality wasn't perfect, but the DVD--" There wasn't a DVD release because it was never made on film. It's fascinating. Some of the Loose Cannon reconstructions are the same, remembering sequences from snapshots.

I'm always down for more lost stories. Even when they aren't great there is an added layer of fascination for me with these 'could have been' stories that I just don't get from any other releases.
Plus which, the Sixth Doctor especially has tended to be a bit more of his old blustery self in many of these in the past, and as someone who always loved Six, I must admit I do still miss a bit of his more boisterous blustering from time to time, so I'm hoping this story will have a little bit of that to it as well.

Pre ordered 2 bundles, I've always enjoyed this particular range.

From what I found out about the story, this will be the ultimate ham and cheese sandwich for Colin Baker. I think it will be absolutely glorious.

Fun fact - even if you count Trial as four stories, there are now more Big Finish Lost Stories with the Sixth Doctor than TV stories with him!

So this may be an odd question but I'm curious. The production details for Nightmare Country show that it was recored "28 March 2018 and 15-16 January 2019". So....usually with split productions like this it is due to a particular cast member only being available. Would it be anyone in the main cast or is there perhaps a secret sneaky cameo character we could expect? (For example, I recall there being a very large gap for Nightshade, which I can only assume was for the purposes of Carole Anne Ford's cameo).
