A modern remake, but recorded using vintage mics (etc) to give an authentic sound. I do like a bit of Paul Temple and his wife (Steve), it doesn't get much more posh English than this.
Very well done, worth a listen on 4xtra.

The Paul Temple BBC radio dramas are classics... everyone should give them a listen.

You can never watch or listen to too much Francis Durbridge in one go though since he pulls the same trick out of the bag far too often e.g. who was that you were talking to? The victim's brother. The victim didn't have a brother! Cue end credits.

The victim's brother. The victim didn't have a brother! Cue end credits. for me that’s part of the fun of it. And you are of course saying this (binge) listening as you can nowadays. It was written to be heard one episode a week and so had enormous gaps between stories by which time the audience would have long forgotten the detail. It was fit for purpose, and is still highly entertaining these days. Half way through and the mystery of the spectacles remains a mystery!
