About these two points: you’re right that BF has provided an interim approach - at least I hope it is interim (I fear that they will let it rest here, given the new site is coming, why invest in a temporary solution). But unfortunately it’s not workable for a lot of us Personally Im only able to listen on the go - work and family make it so - so any ‘sit down and listen’ option isn’t available to me. more generally, it’s not about LISTENING to 500 audios in 6 months (cos yes that would be extreme), you need to get down to 500ish unhidden releases in your account to be able to access ANY audios thru the app. So if you want to use the app to listen to releases as they come out, and have a lot of releases (1600+ in my case), you have to find the time go and hide 1000+ releases to do so.
Exactly that. And I am sorry, but I have a full time job and a life, so not happening on my end.
What do they think of their fans? That we all are people living in their parent's basement all day, too much time on their hands, listening to their audios?
I think I will also go for the option and write an email. If I find the motivation and time, that is.
Already voiced by disapproval on pretty much every FB post of BF.
Yes we can't spend all day sorting out/deleting out purchases. BF need to sort it out their end! Weeks & weeks of this now!

I’n in a bit of an odd situation where combined the apps kind of work for me as new is getting newly released pre orders and old has everything prior to the failed upgrade. But that’s only because I disregarded Big Finish’s instructions first to ditch old one initially and then ditch new one at rollback. No idea if any new purchases would appear on new one; and not rushing to try.
What they are offering is not a fix by any means. I already did a load of account admin making sure I had everything downloaded before the upgrade. I’m not dedicating yet more time to it.

I am a CD buyer and always do listen 1 on the CD and then any re-listens on the app, and I try to leave at least a year between listens. So if I can access my historic library on the old app - and so far I have been able to get everything I wanted to listen to, despite the fact that the headline number of releases is about 2/3rds of the number on the BF website - then I am happy enough.
I haven't been bothered to count and check but all the BF & Toby Hadoke podcasts seem to be missing from the new app - I wonder if that accounts for all my "missing" releases on the new app?

I don't use the app but the problem of 'boomerang' releases (i.e. ones which come back as non-downloaded after you really have done) isn't new on the website. I've a long run of MR releases showing which it says I've not downloaded - between about 50 and 70 but I don't think it's constant. The old site did and still does this.
And some of them still flag as 'new' even after I download them again. So the problem is older and deeper than the new app. Something in the database just won't be told!

A confirmed non-BF-app user and I am as chilled as Varga (was).
Still think BF need to sort it ASAP because I recognise I'm probably in the minority now not using the app, but part of the reason I don't always use the apps for everything (not just BF) is it makes you reliant on single pieces of software you have no control over. So if/when they fail...

Right now, I go through the hassle of downloading and putting it on an old ipod. Just in case you mean me with that comment. Yes, I can indeed use my ipod, but it is more hassle. Hence, my criticism.

Sincere Apologies once again Regards mark687 I wouldn't worry Mark, we all access BF in different ways and what works for us as old-school CD buyers must seem like it's out of the Tribe of Gum for all-streaming app users!
I'm just happy to have my offline archive of DLs as well as the CDs. Anyway, when I've bought something, I want to have it. Old-fashioned consumer capitalism I know but I expect an actual product - even if a digital one -for my money! And BF are great for letting us have proper audio DLs which don't need to access their online services as a gatekeeper. Unlike some other audio producers I could mention...

The new app, oddly, is working for me, at least for the few releases I have tried to download. I currently have the first of the group listen releases downloaded to the new app.

I did the temporary fix when it was announced and since then I have been unhiding stories in batches to get the back.
I noticed that the newest 4DA wasn’t showing up in my app amongst the refreshes, but hiding it and unhiding it plus an app refresh got it to show up.
