Only thing drawing my eye in this sale is The Widow's Assassin, though quite why my eye was never drawn to it in the eleventy billion times it's been on sale in the past few years is beyond me..🤷♂️

Some brilliant offers on The War Doctor: Agents of Chaos and The Diary of River Song: Volume 1. Absolute steals at those prices.. That's the War Doctor Vol 3 clinched for me, as per the previous 2 sales in this run - skipped last weeks 1st & 2nd Doctor sale as there is only so much of 'hologram' style recreated Doctors I can listen to, but this is one worth getting.

I think I'm going to just pick up the two Class volumes on offer, since I have most of these. Some very good deals indeed!

The River Song set is definitely a steal - that first set doesn't put a foot wrong - Alex is great, as it Alex! I think if they ever made a big budget Doctor Who related movie it would be the perfect set to base it on. Move over Lara Croft, River Song is here!!

Bought The New Counter-Measures: Who Killed Toby Kinsella? - something I've been wanting to try out for quite a while. Not a bad price.

Was hoping for a bit more really - *ducks head* as I wanted to fill in a few gaps in my collection.
Got The Widows Assassin - which gives me a complete run now from The Wrong Doctors to the present.
For some reason I never got round to getting Spare Parts, so picked that up at £1.
Wonder if Monday will bring anything new?

Question!?
I bought the no extras CD version of The Well Mannered War as I wasn’t interested in Damaged Goods.
My question is are the extras in the book-set worth owning from a Fourth Doctor fans perspective?

They are slightly longer but the empathies in the Boxset is on Damaged Goods where you get an extended interview with RTD

Thanks for the response. When you say “slightly longer” is that the interviews with cast etc. or is the story slightly longer? Also do you know if there is anything worthwhile in the book itself? I am just trying to weigh up if it is worth a double dip

the story features Chelonians, the return of Marlowe Stowe and a TV Villain that the Doctor and Romana have history with, the book has more Douglas Adams type humour in it, but nothing substantial extra story wise

I'm not 100% sure you're both on the same wavelengths here? The standalone release of The Well-Mannered War doesn't include any interview material at all, so the interviews in the bookset would be more than 'slightly longer' As for the story being different lengths in the different versions, I'd be astonished if that was the case. The only real selling point of the booksets were the bonus discs (in terms of audio content); if the stories were longer edits, that's something I feel they would have mentioned in the marketing (and made anyone who missed out feel like they were getting seriously ripped off).

Really I thought the standard one for Well Mannared had a cut down version of the interview Track?
And yes story wise I was talking about the written book vs audio.

I bought both versions (yes, I'm that sort of silly completist ), and none of the bookset standalone releases have any interview tracks. They do have the music suites though

Ended up getting The Churchill Years: Volume Two from the sale. £11 is a great price. I love Vastra, I enjoy McNiece’s take on Churchill and I liked the format of The Bleeding Heart when I listened to the freebie. I’m in the mood for a “new” Tenth and Eleventh Doctor story too.

Hello again. Thank you Big Finish, I've had my eye on The Widow's Assassin for a while now. So I was delighted when it was in the recent sale, a great treat for Christmas.
