lidar, Brig and daver: I wanted to say thanks for your kind posts upthread (thanks to paz for the earlier post too) and I must apologise that when it came to it I wasn't prepared to fully engage and 'fight my corner' in an opinionated - but on DU always reliably courteous - discussion.
That lack of response was rude of me and I did try for some time to answer your earlier posts, elaborating my POV, but I couldn't write anything to my satisfaction. Most unusual but there we are, my heart just wasn't in it which came as quite a surprise to me. (I also wasn't prepared to respond to an insulting - not discussing - post from someone else either but that's altogther different and as the offending post has been deleted I don't have to )
Hopefully I'll feel more back with the forum flow later in the summer. Best wishes all.

The Government seems to be on the verge of claiming victory over the virus, which given a second wave remains a very real danger is a risky strategy.

The Government seems to be on the verge of claiming victory over the virus, which given a second wave remains a very real danger is a risky strategy. Yeah. I think I sort of get what he is trying to say. The whole ‘We will get through this’ and ‘We must remain vigilant’ but it seems a trifle... well you said it best risky at this time. Especially when we have just had reported new cases in places such as Beijing and Rome.

Very true. Just have to keep an eye out for one another if this second wave does hit. At least that way we’ll be doing more to help out each other than our politicos are.

Rebecca Long-Bailey sacked from Shadow Cabinet for retweeting an article with an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory
Hooray for Sir Keir. I like him more and more
