Rebecca Long-Bailey sacked from Shadow Cabinet for retweeting an article with an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory Hooray for Sir Keir. I like him more and more Interesting, she is one of the 'Corbynistas' so can't say I'm sorry to see her go. Its difficult for Long-Bailey to make excuses when her retweet of the article says "Maxine Peake is an absolute diamond". I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't even read the article just the headline which venerated her beloved Corbyn. That is not an excuse. If only those in other particular parties took such decisive action. But that would mean the PM would be out on his backside for starters.

Different rules for them again. That's interesting, I didn't know he was in the government. I must have missed his appointment.
Or have we advanced to the stage of proving guilt by family and group membership? 'Are you now, or have you ever been, related to a Tory?'

(MEP I think. But you're right, the key word there is 'former'. As in 'not now' or 'retired'.)

I like him more and more Labour are watching the government, as the Loyal Opposition should, and they want to be the alternative government-in-waiting, so we should be watching them, so it counts!
And being serious for a moment, 'LOTO sacks former leadership contender and close ally of his predecessor from Shadow Cabinet over anti-Semitism' really is a story. So no "" quotes required!
SKS has impressed me three times in one week: 1. Sacking RLB. 2. Distancing himself from BLM organisational 'nonsense' about 'defunding the Police'.
3. Supporting the Government over the citizenship offer to BNO Passport holders.
So far he impresses me like no Labour leader has done since John Smith. It would take a good lot (more than a good LOTO ) to get me to vote Labour (but never say never eh?) but they will be elected one day and need to be electable again for the sake of our country.

But that's OK. I can live with being taken seriously for once. Unless you were also joking? And that's OK too. Deadpan humour is so confusing onlline.

Hello again.
I too am delighted that we finally have an effective and constructive opposition. The country desperately needs this when any government has a large majority. This particular cabinet of chaos need challenging and brought to account by Parliament. I am particularly concerned that the independence of the Civil Service is being broken down. As a family who have had to rely on food vouchers to help feed my children, I was not surprised that a Tory government did not want this to continue. In Cornwall, the new planning regulations being proposed will mean that the local council will have little oversight over new planning applications. In a rural county like Cornwall, this is a recipe for trouble.
Yes, we should be looking at HM Opposition and thinking is what their offering a real and effective alternative to the current administration. My feeling so far is that things look more promising than Mr Corbyn's Labour party. Although I did vote Labour, because I cannot stand most of Boris johnson's front bench and I couldn't bring myself to vote for this lying, blustery, incompetent and wastrel Prime Minister.

I think the Labour Party appear stronger now, even though I would have preferred Jess Phillips as leader. Despite thinking Corbyn & the momentum movement were the worst thing to happen to Labour in decades I did vote for them last time. I have never voted Tory & never will. I think there is now a decent opposition, if Labour can curb the infighting.
