Having Tom Baker in Stranded is exciting and everything but I really really hope they don't reveal who the Curator is. That's best left a mystery. Yeah, agreed.

That's... amazing, again! The Curator?? What next this week I wonder? There's still half an hour and Big Finish do everything in threes... (or was that the Ramans? )
(Right now in a TARDIS far far away, Missy is thowing the mother of all tantrums.... 'I was supposed to be the big news today! Me! With my lovely Volume 2! He's done it again and it might not even really be him! DOCTOR I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS!')
Exactly where BF will go with this I don't know and really I don't care. As others have said, they were superb together in 'The Light at the End' and this will surely be great!

OK, I get why they want to do it, but does every single gap in Who mythology need to be filled? Somethings are best left to the imagination. I'm a bit 'meh' over this.

I am not actually sure they are going to explain everything... he might be there as some kind of narrator or observer... it would be quite cool having an omniscient voice in the background commenting on what is going on, kind of like in Good Omens.

A familiar face is returning to help Eight track down the TARDIS... Pure technicality - the TARDIS ain’t missing. I mean, I get that the poetry blurb on the BF twitter would seem to contradict this... but, yeah, he definitely knows where it is.

Interesting.
I’ll be honest the Curator never seemed the kind of character who really needed to reappear anywhere. He serves his purpose as an Easter egg in The Day of the Doctor and there’s not really much of a character to him. I’ll be curious to see what Big Finish to do with him, but it’s not a ‘I must buy this now’ kind of announcement for me.

No question it will be well done? Not everything they do is well done. Well you can quibble about stories all day. That's subjective and personal choice. There is always excellence in the production and execution though. Very true, I can think of one (and only one) story in all the BF I've heard where I thought the regular cast sounded unconvincing (and possibly unconvinced) and one other where I thought the sound balance of some character voices was 'off' in the 'exterior' scenes. Just one time each and yet I remember them, because excellence is normal with BF.
The first BF I ever bought was 'The Light at the End' (what a story to start with!) and it's fair to say it blew me away! Then the Fourth Doctor Lost Stories boxset (again wow!) and then in total contrast of style and production scale - but equally brilliant in execution - 'Farewell, Great Macedon', with the cast of three and excellent sound design bringing a six-part classic historical to glorious life.
At which point I might just as well have handed over my credit card permanently...

I was shocked to see Today's Tom Baker on the cover of an Eighth Doctor story and was like... Is he playing a new character? He can't be the Curator. Can he? But my my my. What is going here I wonder?

As a BF buyer/listener/fan since 2005, I am still pleasantly surprised by BF's announcements. I didn't think BF could do many more surprises after 2019. As a member of the Paul McGann Appreciation Society, I would have bought this anyway. But Andy and the Curator! Great stuff

So admittedly with this news, I'm starting to get worried that (especially with these 8th sets) that BF are relying too much on "Here's a crossover we can do" so why not. But at the same time, this is astounding and I'm very curious as to how it goes. Plus the writers involved are all brilliant (More David Barnes please!) so I'm certainly far from worried, and I'm keenly looking forward to Stranded as I have no doubt it'll be rather damn good

The Curator holds interest to me and having Sgt. Andy part of the cast is making me think the tone & feel of Stranded will set it apart from Ravenous, Doom Coalition and Dark Eyes. So not having any idea what this first volume is doing with the Curator, I am happy to walk into this set with an open set of ears and a open mind.

A familiar face is returning to help out Eight... Now I have seen everything. At least Who related. (or at least until BF pulls the next weird rabbit out of the hat) This is certainly a surprise I was not expecting. Still, I am very curious where they are going with this. Bring on July.
Wow interesting this is really curious and also Clive Wood a truly great actor as long as he isn’t playing the Roman Commander hahaha July geez

Why can't they just bring back Duggan, he would be great in this story, rather than try to explain every single little thing. Oh well this is yet another 8th Doctor release I will not buy. Well, we definitely need more Duggan! Is the actor still alive? Maybe they have not convinced him yet?
But to be honest, I think I would prefer Duggan to meet up with Sixie than with Eight... I can just imagine the banter. He did a lot of the Blake’s Seven audios

Well now is the time to build on what we were given in the Day of The Doctor and is he friends with Helen after all she may know him who knows how long he has been the Curator does she know him from her previous employment I will need to go back and familiarise myself though with the Curator to see how continuity will be affected and if it requires Paul to suffer from amnesia 😂

*Sigh*
It’ll be interesting to see where it goes and I don’t want to comment on something that I haven’t even heard yet....that being said, I just don’t think every single Easter egg needs to be explained or every plot hole filled, was there seriously no other character that could’ve fulfilled this role?
Still, we’ll see. I won’t be pre ordering like I have with the others (I fell out of love with the box sets after Ravenous 1) but I look forward to hearing other people’s thoughts
The cover looks great though so that’s something.

Great cover, Tom Baker as The Curator if i hadn't already pre-ordered this would've sealed the deal.
Very excited about this release now.

Thing is - we have the same concerns as the fans. We know what the bad take on this would be just as much as the fanbase. So we give it a lot of thought! Well, in all truth, you have yet to disappoint me with one of these "gimmicky" 8th Doctor stories. So far, I was blown away by each and everyone of them. So I have a lot of confidence that you will get it right.
Please don't be discouraged by the more grumpy voices on here. There are always some fan girls like me around who will go squee! over most things....

I'll freely admit to being a bit grumpy last night, I was tired. As I get quite a few other ranges I tend to pick and choose my Who stuff and lately that seems to be set to the first two Doctors.
