Well, I did some brainstorming today and came up with a great Sixie idea. Only problem is is that it will be a killer hard time to actually pull it off well. But considering how much I love the idea and how much it lends to the short trip format while also being a bit experimental, I think I’m going to go for it.
Now to figure out some key parts of it, and the companion(s) with Six.

Personally, I absolutely love how there are many on this forum who have the skill/talent/drive/capacity/love to write Who stories. Keep it up

I think something to bear in mind in subject matter - odds are, there will be a lot of submissions about pandemics/isolation this year. Not saying that that's a bad idea necessarily for a story, but just like the past PSSTs not being about death or mourning, I think it's a little obvious and, what's more, something that might not want to be read by Nick or whoever else, for clear reasons. Not to mention that Paul Cornell has already written the perfect Doctor Who isolation story - The Shadow Passes.

Actually have two submissions planned at the moment. One features the Tenth Doctor and Rose (set before Army of Ghosts/ Doomsday). The other will have Flip taking on the lead role (set between Scavenger and Quicksilver), but so far haven't decided which incarnation will appear. Very pleased that we can now include certain New Series companions, especially Rose. Still plotting these two entries right now but will, of course, have to pick which one I consider to work best. And I can also announce that they'll both be Tenth Doctor stories. So, here are a little bit of concept details (won't mention the titles for now)... Ten/Flip - After the events of Scavenger, the Tenth Doctor returns Flip home in 2012 (she remains unconscious throughout her rescue). Whilst adjusting back to normal life, she considers writing a memoir or a series of blog posts about her travels in case her memories fade away. When she receives an email from the Doctor posing as a literary agent, that causes writer's block to kick in... Ten/Rose - Partially reflects upon the lockdown procedures and social distancing; no (global) pandemic however. It very much focuses on Rose taking a short break from travelling, by spending the weekend at home with her mum. But a force field soon encloses the Powell Estate, preventing the Doctor and the TARDIS from entering and Rose from exiting. So the only way they can communicate is by phone...

I'm conflicted. I had what I thought was a really cool idea for the Tenth Doctor, set just after Waters of Mars and dealing in a way, using another character, with the aftermath of the Time Lord Victorious on a personal level. The funny thing is, I just checked and the document where I put the idea down was created a mere two days before the announcement. So yeah... Idk if I should pursue this idea any further, try and adapt it for another Doctor or do something else entirely. One of your best strengths in a situation like this is what's called your authorial voice. How you tell your story. No one's going to have quite the same interpretation of the inspiration that you are, so you can use that to your advantage. Plot it out. See how far you can take the idea. If you've got traction and it's really sparking off, pursue it and see what you can bring with your interpretation. If you're finding it hard to nail down vital elements, hang onto it for a while in the back of your mind. Sometimes ideas need a bit of time to gestate before they really hatch.

And there’s nothing better for working out how to write something - than writing something.

I'm doing a Tenth Doctor submission and looking for help with a minor detail - did Ten ever express any preference in biscuits, the way Eleven loved jammy dodgers? (I have it in my head that Ten was fond of chocolate hobnobs but I'm not sure why.)

According to the TARDIS Wikia article on biscuits (I'm smiling quietly to myself as I write this sentence ): I think there's some wiggle room there for chocolate hobnobs.

I'm working on a video where I was required to find a character in Doctor Who saying the word "lagoon". I put lagoon into the TARDIS Wiki and there is genuinely an entry on lagoons! It's just the recent joke about the Judoon by a "lagoon", but it's got an entry nonetheless

Upon rereading, I'd double-check the 'Psychological Profile' section of the Tenth Doctor's page as well. It's just as thorough. I've discovered how he likes to take his tea (Earl Grey, two sugars with a dash of milk).

I mean, I’m assuming the ‘announcement’ was of ‘Time Lord Victorious’, rather than the Spragg Opportunity itself? If you’re worried about that, I probably wouldn’t be. It’s a title, it’ll likely cover different ground.

It’s a title, it’ll likely cover different ground. It was Time Lord Victorious, yes, sorry about that. Well, it's not an epic, obviously, it's a smaller in scale and more personal story. So I'll try not to focus on what little it might have in common with TLV, appart from where the Doctor is at in his journey. Again, thanks for the encouragement and advice

Well, good luck everyone! I figured this would be handy too (as always, check out previous pages and threads for writing advice), but as Harness uploaded some pages of Who outlines, these could be handy when thinking about how to approach yours. How you use language and images to convey to the reader, in a broad sense as it's an outline, what the story could be like.

Hey all!
I recently joined this forum to read up on the competition. I have to say, it has some pretty good advice. It's great to find a group of people who are so passionate about writing.
I figured I'd enter this year. The prospect of being compared to the quality of the past few years is daunting- but that's just part of the fun.
My favourite doctor is Tennant but I'm on a real Eccleston kick right now.
Hopefully we can have some interesting conversations. When this is done, I'd be wholly into sharing my ideas with you guys.
Thanks for giving my confidence, FH

Aaaand sent. A lot earlier than last time, but if I hadn't bitten the bullet I would have driven myself insane from rewriting the excerpt so many times. If nothing else, I'm confident that I finally managed to pitch a clean, simple idea, instead of a completely bonkers one that needs five other ideas just to prop it up. EDIT: Oh, and I got a confirmation auto-reply this time, so things are already looking up from last year

Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm not sure where the name came from. A while back I was spitballing for a name that sounded vaguely like it could be a Youtube channel. My go-to forum name is feeling stale so I'll use this opportunity to revamp my image. Given the situation, I'm gonna say it represents a fez. I noticed there weren't many people uploading their pitches in retrospect. It's a shame, but understandable. I'll be happy to share my submission after the winner is announced (if I'm allowed) and I'd love to read some other pitches too.
