lol, OK, amusing... but why? just for laughs I've thought. Kind of fails if that's your knee-jerk reaction though not that there's anything wrong with that reaction Jason!

Following a few links, people are asserting it's confirmation from Jackson that he will direct an episode of Who.

"For me, one of the most curious things about this piece is its wonderful... afunctionalism." "Yes. I see what you mean. Divorced from its function and seen purely as a piece of art, its structure of line and colour is curiously counterpointed by the redundant vestiges of its function." "And since it has no call to be here, the art lies in the fact that it is here." "Exquisite... Absolutely exquisite."

Question is: is it canon?

Question is: is it canon? Definitely. Capaldi was fantastic in it, wish he'd camped it up like that a bit more in the main series.

I have mixed feelings about this. If I had learned ten years ago that Peter Jackson was going to direct a Who episode, I'd be jumping for joy at the news. But after King Kong, the Lovely Bones, and those - shall we say - 'Blobbit' films, I'm indifferent to his involvement at best. It looks to me like Moffat and Co. are grasping at straws in light of the ratings plunge.

Thought The Hobbit films were great, although the battle of 5 armies seemed... not right, but other than that great.
