Allright...
I haven't read your opinions. We just got around to finishing it. That was [censored]ing awesome, in my opinion. That was a self-contained arc that worked. I think there was one little thing or so near the very end that seemed off, but it worked overall.
I suppose the whole who is she really thing is punted, possibly indefinitely. I wonder if BF will be allowed to play with that once 14 shows up.
Damn, though. I wouldn't want every season to be like that, but that worked. After first watch, I say favorite in reboot. 5th season second favorite, before the silliness.
EDIT: this comment is based on The Flux. There is a special out?!
I need to scarper from this thread

Losing two episodes from the series would explain why the story managed to feel simultaneously rushed and incomplete.* And from various behind-the-scenes details and interviews it looks episodes were moved about and scenes moved to different episodes as well.
*I wonder if we were supposed to get a Doctor-less episode between "Village of the Angels" and "Survivors of the Flux" because as is, the big shocking cliffhanger instantly turns into a damp squib.
I could not have complained about more episodes flushing it out. But I did appreciate that there was no filler episodes.

DWM has a lot of coverage of Legend of the Sea Devils, which is excellent. Well worth buying the magazine for.
In it Chibnall sums the episode up as “big, broad fun”. Also regarding the Doctor and Yaz’s relationship, apparently that thread does carry on here but according to Ella Road “It’s not a huge part of the episode”.
Oh and there are sword fights.

That’s quite a novel idea, definitely on board for that. I’ve said it many times, but Jodie excels at portraying the Doctor on audio; her intonation is perfect for it.

Well this is interesting. Why a return of supplementary behind the scenes spin-off material 2 EPs before the end the Era, this is the kind of thing that should always be in play! Regards mark687

From the sound of it it seems like Jodie and the other returning actors will just be cameos in the story.
Very odd that Neve McIntosh's been replaced as Vastra.

That’s really odd they’ve replaced Neve McIntosh as Madame Vastra. I hope it’s not because Doon Mackichan is meant to be a bigger name or something.

BF must be delighted to get confirmation that Jodie is happy to keep playing the Doctor in audio format.

It's a shame everything has to be reduced to a clickbait headline, because what Chibnall actually says shows a strong understanding of how Doctor Who works. “You’re not carrying a vase across a room – you’ve got to get in there and say what you want about the show, the character and the world... It’s one of the few drama series without a written bible, and every era contains a contradiction or left-turn from what has come before. Any future showrunner will ignore it or run with it.” He's right. Sometimes changes stick (the Doctor being a Time Lord, regeneration being limited, the Time War) and sometimes they get ignored/swept aside (Theta Sigma being the Doctor's name, the Master being that way because of drums in his head, the Daleks having evolved into robots). Writers just have to present their vision and not worry about whether it'll stick, because that's beyond their control. It's a very mature, rational attitude to have. But "Chris Chibnall has a mature and reasonable opinion about change in Doctor Who" doesn't make for a good headline.
