There is a small supermarket about a 10 min walk from my house- I am going to pick up some milk "just in case" and 1-2 other things essential for my wife.. I am going to walk slow so I am planning for a 20 min walk there and 20 min back- slow and steady.
We had a 13 year old girl yesterday in Australia crushed in a stoopid sheeple mad panic stampede yesterday at a supermarket.. Full grown adults stepping over her in the mad dash for "anything".. GGGRRRR..
We actually did a quick stocktake in our 2nd fridge/freezer unit out in our house sized backyard shed. We have 8 frozen pre prepared meals we have made over the last couple months- we shall start on those 1st if need be.
Oh.. The Govt has promised they will work with the internet providers here to severely boost up services as soo many are working from home. And the phone companies are supposedly pledging to assist as well..
HHMMMM

I'm not American, but I'm right next door so we're serviced by many of the same companies. And I am absolutely appalled at all the 'big business' companies that have already stuck their hands out asking for bailouts. I don't even care if it sounds reactionary: if you took your completely unnecessary corporate tax cut two years ago and immediately gleefully turned around and did a stock buyback instead of investing in your employees, you shouldn't see one effing penny of bailout money now. Invest in people, not corporations.

For future reference - never work in a supermarket during a pandemic. It's hell.

Well I'm the 2nd one that has shed a tear or two. Even though I mute certain words on twitter a few people I follow have been retweeting very sad stories about older people shopping. At least I managed to complete a grocery order for my older relatives & their neighbours so feel better about that. Weird how it just hits you out of the blue.

Well done buddy, I mean that helping and caring is sometimes the most important thing to people my neighbour knocked on my door tonight, to check we were ok cause he hadn’t seen me. Meant so much that someone cared. my tears came tonight when the news showed the pictures of the poor people in the nursing homes in Spain that had become infected, and how cruel it is when loved ones cannot be with them in their final hours...... and also the reaction of some of the young in uk......cruel, selfish and ungrateful.....makes me feel like this virus is killing the wrong generation. stay safe guys, and thanks for being here and virtual hugs to everyone who feels they need one

Yes I have heard some very unkind comments about the selectivenes of the virus I treat those with the contempt it deserves.

I now browse every morning these webcams they remind me of what a wonderful vacation I had and birthday and also a reminder of what the world is like now. When this is over I fully intend to walk these streets again, sip coffee ,drink spritz meet ,laugh ,chat explore with my friends once more...see pla,CDs I have only discovered on these cameras. I guess I don’t lose hope I see a world that will be very very changed after this has subsided, hopefully a kinder, caring world a world where age ,religion, financial status have become less important and working together to protect not only the planet but ourselves. Keep the dreams alive . www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/italia/veneto/venezia/riva-schiavoni.html

Australia is finally in lockdown now. According to official stats 80% of call confirmed cases are from non residents/citizens travelling here and passing it on. HHMM.
The RBA has made moves to- financials.. Will be interesting when people can't afford the basics here- petrol/food/mortgage/rent/utilities. My hometown Adelaide has the highest electricity rates in the world.. And I used to work for the major elect company many years ago, even with the staff discount it was high- but all the other companies followed suit as well so it was damned if you do damned if you dont, damned if you will and damned if you wont.

All good here at the moment, but I find working from home a bit difficult if I'm honest. It will get harder, when my wife (a teacher) and kids are inevitably asked to stay at home. What do you do? I work from home quite a bit so if you need any tips. Not that I can guarantee I can help. Thanks for asking - I'm a project designer for the Civil Service, so I'll continue to work whilst all is good. I just find the days to be quite long and monotonous, but I'm not daft; make sure I'm dressed, hang out in the garden, and of course put on a Big Finish between the relentless conference calls! ps - daughter now at home, my son will attend school until Friday and then it looks like they will both be home for months. Tuigirl - hang in there mate, we will come out the other end!

Bit of good news! It may only be at the Petri dish stage right now, but it appears that a couple of existing anti-malaria drugs are effective at killing the coronavirus: www.nature.com/articles/s41422-020-0282-0

I've been recommending live cam sites (not those ones! lol) to friends & family who feel isolated, great to see the natural world when going out is limited. Deers having breakfast at the moment!

Hello again. It is a dreadful situation. I think stopping watching the news for a bit might help. There are all sorts of positive things being organised online. We were watching Channel 4's Man Down boxset to cheer us up. Greg Davies's sitcom is really silly but features Rik Mayall and Gwyneth Powell who looks exactly the same as she did thirty years ago in Grange Hill! My daughter is not happy because she did loads of work on an art portolio for her GCSE and now they've cancelled the exams. She will miss her school prom too. That said, there was no alternative, it's just a shame after her hard work.

Hello everyone! Just to let you know, I'm doing okay. I'm currently working at home due to my asthma. So far, I haven't been ill severely. I've been downhearted by this latest pandemic as I've been looking forward to going to conventions this year and hope to see movies at the cinema. Sadly that can't happen for a while. I also get anxious about the people I know and love who can possibly be affected by the coronavirus. Thankfully that hasn't happened so far. I try my best to keep my spirits up with enjoying movies on DVD/Blu-ray at home as well as 'Doctor Who'. I'm glad I purchased some CDs from the 'Doctor Who Returns' sale by Big Finish lately. I'll be sharing reviews for those stories on my blog very soon. If anybody is feeling downhearted by the current situation, you're always welcome to check out 'Bradley's Basement' blog to keep you entertained whether it'd be reviews, 'Doctor Who' stories by me and 'Doctor Who' timelines. Please feel free to check out my blog via the link here - bradleybasement.wordpress.com/Best wishes Tim.
