In all the other excitement, yay also for the return of the Twelve! I thought Julia McKenzie was a terrific new incarnation and you never quite know when/if 'Miss Marple of Gallifrey' might summon up the Eleven... or the Six! I’d love a story where she’s a prisoner of someone (not necessarily the Daleks) and ohh so sweetly asks to be released “or I roll a dice and we see who we get”. Cue the sound of a 12 sided dice rolling and her going “Ohh dear. Look a Six. I’m sorry my dear.... *sfx* BUT I’M NOT! *cackle*” cue much mayhem. OMG we need this!!!!

Ken Bones is like a bus - you wait ages then two turn up back-to-back. Just watching the (awful) Jack The Ripper miniseries with Michael Caine and Ken is a medium helping on the case. He's rather OTT and the hairpiece moves from scene to scene. Michael Jayston narrates the opening for some reason. Anyway, took it as a good sign - I can't wait for Ken to reprise his role. The General was a terrific part of the 50th and Hell Bent.

How about using a pocket watch...I always thought there was something that could be done with the game “what’s the time Mr Wolf?” Far more definitive to have a dice IMO. “Dearie, catch....” “it’s a rock.” “A dice darling. Now, what number does it say?” “11.....argh why are you stabbing me with a pencil!?” This idea really has gotten into my head. I love the unpredictability of the rolling of the dice and discovering which personality comes up. I am trying to workout the practicalities - how it would work. Perhaps the Twelve came to a consensus with her other selves to randomly give each of them full control for a period of time (how long?) and will roll the dice at least an x number of times every day? Therefore the Twelve would have to live with the consequences. If she wanted the Hypnotist (10), but rolled a 2 she would have to go with trying to charm her way out rather than mind control! But I guess the current incarnation could always roll the dice again if they didn’t like their chances! There would be so many options for a skilled storyteller. I hope Mr Dorney has read and stored the idea away for future use...

I mean, it would work perfectly well for The Thirteen as well - given that every number would summon a different personality, rather than just keeping his/her own in charge. I imagine the "8" face would be scratched out with a knife, though. Also there's the satisfaction of the D12-roller being "Lucky Thirteen"...

I could sum up not knowing her fate and wondering what will happen next as - Ignorance is Bliss! (sorry)
With this being the final Time War set for the Eighth Doctor (at least to our knowledge) does the forum think that this will be the end of Bliss’s time with the Doctor?
Personally I don’t think she will die, although that would make a great lead into Life in Ruins
Therefore I am expecting something timey-wimey to put her back into a time-stream without the Doctor.
Of course my expectations of this being her final set of stories could be off the mark, the Eighth Doctor could very well show up in the final Galifrey boxset, but if past guest star appearances are anything to go by he will probably be flying solo.
So what do others think will happen?

Either they continue with more individual sets or they will have some over-arching sets bringing all the ranges together.
Reason- I think the Time War is quite a popular setting and McGann is pretty much the poster boy for BF. I cannot think of any rational reason why they should stop now.
So I think Bliss will be still around. I also cannot imagine them creating yet another companion for 8.

So what do others think will happen? It is perhaps notable that the news story only refers to this set as the next instalment in the Time War, not the final one. I’m hoping it is the last one, just to give this saga a proper ending than just becoming yet another infinite Big Finish range with no ending. There’s only so much the Eighth Doctor can really do whilst maintaining his stance of not getting involved in the War imo.

Yeah I reckon there’ll be more sets after this and Bliss will stick around.
They almost owe it to the character not to write her out yet anyway considering she’s barely been developed.

With Davros and the other returning characters it certainly feels like an ending to the range.
But I agree that the write up does not give any indication that time is up for Bliss, so having now read others responses I am beginning to think we might get more of the Eighth Doctor in the Time War...
I certainly want a meeting between Rassilon and the Doctor...perhaps that will be in Gallifrey Time War 4 or perhaps that will be further down the line...

I think there’ll be an announcement of a further four sets later in the year. I don’t have any interest in Bliss, so would happily see her written out. I’ve speculated since the beginning that she will turn out to be a weapon of the Time War. If that was the case, it would be a good opportunity to end this run of stories and push the Doctor forward into the war. Something more akin to his weary and battle ravaged portrayal outside of his own range.
That would get me to subscribe to a further batch anyway!

Wow that cover art is gorgeous- love that Big Finish is using the Doom Coilation/ Dark Eyes Headshots of Paul on his NOTD Costume Yay The General and Davros are back the synopsis intrigues me especially the concept of Alternative Universes though it would be highly unlikely but perhaps maybe one day we can see The 8th Doctor from Russel T Davies Rose: Prequel Time War universe just figured it would be an alternative to recasting The War Doctor and could give Paul an opportunity to play a different version of 8

Is the Charn that is appearing in this set supposed to be the same character as Shan who appeared way back in "Davros"? This was my initial thought given just how appropriate that character would be for a story about an alternative universe Davros having a peaceful life but the difference in spelling in the cast lists is making me second guess myself.
I also see that the characters are portrayed by different actresses which I had assumed was due to difficulity is getting Shan's original actress back but I see that Katarina Olsson appeared in the main range only 3 months ago so that seems to rule that possibility out. Still I can't help but think that it would be a perculiar decision to give a new character a name so similar to one who was such a major part of Davros' life on Skaro in previous Big Finsih stories.

I probably should have read the Vortex article on this set before asking this as that seems to have answered my question. Davros' wife is a Thal so a seperate character to Shan. I still wonder if there is some reason behind them having similar names.

I don't see how she could become Ria, given {Spoiler} Eight made her if I remember correctly.
