RIP Honor Blackman. I pondered where to put this due to her multiple cult roles.. At 94, she has died of natural causes. What a wonderful lady, a class acts to her fans over decades. To be Pussy Galore, THE Bond Girl is something, to be the best Avengers lady, Cathy Gale...that's something else again. And of course we'll remember her in Terror Of The Vervoids. And she got to be one of the co-stars of the last original Hammer Horror in To The Devil A Daughter. A true legend.

Oh, and as though being Pussy Galore and Cathy Gale wasn't bad-ass enough - she was killing the undead as late as 2013 in Cockneys Vs. Zombies.

Superb actress who starred in many film & tv roles although she'll best best remembered for The Avengers Cathy Gale & James Bonds Pussy Galore.
Such a sad loss but she leaves behind a rich embodiment of work for us all to appreciate.

Brilliant actress. She's brilliant in To The Devil a Daughter, which is one of my favourite ever films. Even if she had only done The Avengers and Bond she would have a legend

I saw her in Life at the Top (1965) a while back. Interesting to see that whilst her character was being pursued by Laurence Harvey's lead character, her fellow Terror of the Vervoids co-star, Michael Craig's character was caught having an affair with Harvey's on screen wife. I wonder if JNT cast them both together so they would have someone familiar on production to mix with?
Her passing also seems to leave David McCallum as the last significant cast member of A Night to Remember (1958). Both The Avengers and Goldfinger were well into her established film career.

I first saw her as Hera in "Jason and the Argonauts". I know this because I saw that movie when I was very young, long before I saw a Bond film.

Sad news. Honor Blackman has left an incredible legacy. I think we can call her a pioneer. Her appearance in Goldfinger codified the resourceful Bond girl. Cathy Gale in The Avengers sparked an entirely new archetype of character that would be followed for decades to come. Her presence is such that up until just a few moments ago, I thought she'd done a number of stories for Doctor Who at Big Finish. Just the one, The Children of Seth, but what a one. That's emblematic of Honor Blackman really. Hers is a long, glorious shadow. Full of gold and steel.
