I wonder if Big Finish would be allowed to do an Avengers 60th Anniversary audio next year. It'll almost certainly be the only way that The Avengers 60th year will be celebrated.

Well the Comic Strip adaptions volume 5 are due in March 2021. I know that isn’t what you are after, but I just wonder if they could somehow make it more special. Have some guest stars in the various stories e.g Doctor Keel, Cathy Gale and Mrs Peel. If they hadn’t done it already Too Many Targets would have been a perfect anniversary release. Unfortunately I believe Big Finish are only allowed to adapt existing media (books, comics, missing TV episodes), so is there anything that could be done? I don’t think Big Finish would be allowed to create their own sequel for the anniversary called “Far Too Many Targets” or “Two Too Many Targets”!

That's a good idea! If it was something Big Finish wanted to do, another option might be to have a set with four episodes - one with each of Steed's main partners.
For Mrs Peel and Tara King that could simply be adaptations of two of the other stories that appeared in TV Comics.
Dr Keel and Mrs Gale might be more of a challenge! I think there was a comic strip story with Dr Keel called the Drug Peddler (or something like that) which could be a possibility. For Mrs Gale, I guess an adaptation of the season 2 episode Warlock might be an option. Although the episode survives, it was originally written and recorded as Mrs Gale's introductory story and included Steed and Mrs Gale's first meeting. However, because it wasn't broadcast until halfway through the season, it partially reshot with all the introductory scenes being removed. It would be quite fun to hear the story as originally intended!

According to The Avengers Illustrated there were four Steed and Mrs Gale newspaper strip cartoons, so there could be a possibility for her to appear in a multiple era comic adaptation set.
I am sure the writers could link the stories, if only in a subtle way with the number 60 appearing in each. E.g. the number of the London bus used by Mother as his secret head quarters.
