So I was thinking recently about how it’s the little things in life that make us happy and get us through this incredibly strange, stressful year that is 2020. I feel like the little joys in life are important right now more than ever for us all. What are some little things that make you happy right now during this crazy year that is 2020? There are no wrong answers, it can be strange, silly, mundane, or obscure so as long as it makes you feel happy right now!😊
Mine are: My two doggies Benny and Junebug who are very sweet and affectionate and silly.
Doctor Who, this might sound strange but the main reason I love Doctor Who so much is because it’s extremely therapeutic and comforting to me (especially the 12th Doctor’s era), which is what I need right now.
My parents, we don’t always get along all the time but I am glad they are here with me. My friends, whether they are online or local it’s good to chat with them now and again.
Audiodramas, Books, Movies, tv shows in general, it feels especially important right now to be able to escape into fictional worlds!
Creative projects like writing and drawing, it gives my brain something exciting and expressive to focus on.
Being able to take long 2 hour walks every day without worrying about running into people. I live in a neighborhood where I can walk for ages without seeing hardly anyone and there are lots parks nearby that are pretty and easy to distance from people. I like to listen BF audios along with David Bowie and Queen while I walk. Sometimes I even find myself dancing and skipping and jumping along to the music while I walk!
Tea and chocolate, because I need a treat now and again.
Don’t laugh, but I still sleep with stuffed animals (and one stuffed Doctor) it’s always felt extra comforting to me to hug onto stuffed animals at night and I need that right now especially.

Great idea!
Tea and chocolate are always good. And sleeping and hugging with stuffed animals is actually something used in therapy!
When I feel down or have a bad day, I make myself a nice hot soup. Chicken or Vege broth, pumpkin, Asian fusion or my region's favorite liver dumpling soup. Nothing better.
Living now in a rural area is a life saver. I can go for long walks outside and it calms me down after a stressful day at work. I can see the deer in the river valley from my balcony, when the fog lifts off the meadows in the morning.
I also started painting my miniatures again. It just gets me into the "zone". Especially when listening to some audios, while sitting on said balcony. I also enjoy exchanging pictures and suggestions with others online. Plus, I joined up with the local Warhammer gaming club- when COVID allows, we can meet for some games. Also great for getting to know new people with the same interests and having some fun. Hope this will be soon.
Last Friday I spend several hours at night chasing some fireflies. We have such a wet summer, the garden is full of them. So I took some pictures for my international friends. I felt like a kid again.
Right now I am home at my parents place- having the week off. Tomorrow I will take the kids (niece and nephew) to an amusement park. Yes, they are open again- with social distancing and face masks. Plus, we have a pretty cold and wet summer, so it will rain. But no matter. This is what rain coats are made for.
Now I will sit outside on the deck of my parent's place with a hot tea and a blankie and listen to the second story of the Missy set before I go to bed.

Rather a cliché I know but I find that a good cup of tea accompanied by a few biscuits (shortbread naturally) does the trick in making me feel better whenever I’m down.
And I know it’s not exactly the most exciting of activities, but I just love doing Wordsearches. One of my favourite things to do and I find it very therapeutic whenever I need to get my thoughts in order.

It's a very new habit, but I really enjoy sitting on the ferry as it travels down the river. I'm with Barbara, I love sailing ships and this is the closest I can get to it at the moment. Just close my eyes, roll back my shoulders... listen to the wind. Marvellous.

Went for a walk today. Saw a butterfly and a bumblebee happily sharing the same bush and twirling around each other as they went from flower to flower.

Easy Peasy. Here is a nice little star chart so you will find it easily.
Plus, there are tons of star chart apps for mobile devices.
Go on, you know you want to try it!

Going for a swim in the lake after work and then drying off watching the sunset. Magic.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Walking the dog of an evening or very early morning and seeing the local mob of kangaroos hopping past has become something I look forward to every day.
Catching up with friends, although not too many at a time due to my increasingly problematic hearing.
Books and movies (mostly books).

Making my niece laugh, seeing a 9 month old baby smiling & chuckling brought tears to my eyes, for me these are life's greatest moments.
