I assume he's referring to the male fans who were upset (or even downright nasty) about a woman being the heir apparent to Luke Skywalker's legacy. So it’s ok to use insults now on this site then…..that’s just sexism in reverse …. That’s what I mean, I thought this was a friendly place…..what happened to all views are valid…… Pray explain to me how that's sexism in reverse. It's a fact that many male fans were upset by Rey's leading character in the Star Wars movies. They complained about it loudly and insultingly on other websites, such as Twitter and the like. The sexism is in the way they complained about her and other female leading characters in Star Wars movies of the last several years. There's no reverse sexism going on here and no one on this site has been personally targeted or insulted. It was a general comment about something that has gone on in fandom. I'm sorry it upsets you, but there have been folks who've whined about Rey and other female leads in the Star Wars movies. People are allowed to express opinions.

Very much looking forward to the entire Star Wars slate ahead, all for different reasons. I love Daisy Ridley, I love Rey and I love the idea of exploring further in the timeline without the “restriction” of the Skywalker Saga; bring it on.

And since it's never going away, if it's not for some people...they should just move on. There'll be a lot of different types of Star Wars going forward. No need to, as we've seen above, piss in someone else's cornflakes. The days of Star Wars being that VHS boxset I got for Chrstmas are LONG gone. It's gonna be bigger and bigger. That some people find it neccessary to attack a project not even written yet much let released says more about them. I think there absolutely is a toxic fandom who want everything to be just the same as it was with everything regimented and safe with no diversity. A bit like The Empire, really! It made me so sad when Ewan McGregor put out that video telling people they were NO Star Wars fan for the racist and sexist abuse that poor actor who played Reva, Moses Ingram, received. By all mean people can say she wasn't the best actress or missed some beats and reads etc etc but as a black woman she got abuse a white man just wouldn't. Ditto Rose in The Last Jedi. If people didn't like the last one(s) - and I HATED Rise Of Skywalker for being a mess more designed to undo Rian Johnson's work than add anything new - then surely the chance for a make-good is welcome? Just like Picard S3...it was ALL the sweeter because I expected so little after the mess of the previous two runs.

Well I have no interest in the nostalgia of Boba Fett, Mando, all the old characters, filling gaps in the franchise etc. Even though I wasn't a big fan of the new movies I did like Rey as a character & want to see the world of Star Wars movie forward. As you say, without the restriction of the Skywalker Saga.

So it’s ok to use insults now on this site then…..that’s just sexism in reverse …. That’s what I mean, I thought this was a friendly place…..what happened to all views are valid…… Calling reverse sexism for… checks notes… someone criticizing the petulant behaviour of toxic fandom getting mad that a female is the lead of Star Wars, and calling her a "Mary sue" when Luke Skywalker follows almost the exact same path as Rey. Seems like a great way to minimize the actual sexism at play here. And for someone spouting “all views are valid", you seem to take a lot of umbrage with other people sharing their views you don’t agree with. I have no problem with any of that, Star Wars and my views on it don’t matter, is just the derogatory way the use of manbabies is used that I find so offensive…..it’s like manflu and other terms that get used as a way to belittle . The same way as the use of “women’s problems” or “time of the month” it’s unacceptable to refer to a woman’s point of view. referring to the stupid views people have as toxic fandom is a much better way to refer to them, yes everyone is entitled to their own views weather you agree or not, no one should be degraded for holding that view…..I find organised religions a load of hogwash and just a means to control but I would never ever say to anyone who does have faith they are a moron for believing that……all views are valid I still stand by that. I HOPE THATS CLEAR, I have taken enough insults

For mercy’s sake please stop deliberately miss interpreting my offence as about bloody rey! It’s the term manbabies that’s offensive, that’s what’s sexist and offensive.
