All I can say from my corner is... well, welcome aboard. Glad you're enjoying them. This was much more Terror of the Autons than Spearhead from Space in terms of seasons for me. It's a season that keeps getting better and better as it goes 1. It feels really confident and the Thirteenth Doctor benefits from a more active leadership role in her little group. I really, really recommend watching the final three parts in one sitting. It's a proper tour de force with that classic sense of desperation. The characters have to survive with nothing but the clothes on their back. 1 - (barring maybe Orphan 55, but then into each life some rain must fall.)

I really hated season 11 a few episodes but I had already condemned it before it even aired to be honest now I have had two years to junk my junk but I still like to be sarcastic about the changes and it won’t change but this is a NEW WHO experience lol as the whole change upset me a lot lol but onwards I go . The changes to mythology are interesting and I have to see how it pans out and if I have to keep imagining a different Time Line or an Alternative Timeline that is fine with me.I can enjoy my original timeline theories and this NEW one hopefully I mean am a science fiction fan after all adaptation should be easy hahaha

I hope you enjoy the rest of the series! I haven’t seen any of it since original broadcast - except a rewatch of Resolution a couple of months back - but I did really enjoy it. The TARDIS team are great, particularly the Doctor & Graham, Yaz especially gets some more development and it’s a nice variety of stories.
I do recall my gripes being Spyfall is resolved off screen and I thought Praxeus was rather cheap, though the story itself is good. I enjoyed Orphan 55 much more than everyone else, was a little baffled by Captain Jack’s cameo in Fugitive of the Judoon, loved Can You Hear Me? and was a little indifferent to the revelations in The Timeless Children. Not in a bad way, but it’s something that has potential if it’s explored in a substantial way. If it isn’t then it just falls by the wayside; it’s very dependent on future series.
I do think it’s a step up from Series 11, though I’m not as critical of it as others are. My personal opinion is what’s there is sound on the whole, but it’s in the wrong order. I’ve gone into detail about it on another thread in the past and can dig it up if anyone’s interested.
Anyway, enjoy!

That's the main thing. And if you end up enjoying the characters, but not necessarily the stories, there's always other places to find them -- comics, audios, novels, etc. I find I sometimes warm up to different characters in different mediums and Doctor Who is rife with expanded universe content, so anything's possible. Give the season a shot and see what happens.

Haha, I won't bite my tongue and say "I told you so". With series 12 being much darker with a much more broody Doctor, I was pretty sure you would enjoy this. It is a big step up from series 11. I however agree on the consensus on Orphan 55. Only thing I remember is "BENNYYYY!" You are in for a really fun ride.

There's some good stuff in 12, some bad stuff and some... chaotic neutral? Basically, it's a typical season of Doctor Who! It's weird to me that it came out THIS YEAR because it was still in the "Before COVID" era. The Fugitive reveal feels like it was years ago!

Oh right seriously...am right up to the episodes with the Judoon.....was really loving it and then Jack appeared.😭 Ignore Jack. There is much more important things in that episode. It is one of the best with one of the bestest characters created of late.

Orphan 55 wasn’t bad as rubber suited aliens go but they tried to make them work and some moments looked brilliant .
NTNOT- lovely episode -the Human Duplicates genuinely unnerving and could have been the villain....somehow if they ever did Timelords versus their vampire foe history they couldn’t do much better than how those looked.
Fugitive-well I didn’t like the Judoon though BF slightly redeemed them with In Chains-and I know The major spoiler already that Rose is something more, but it sets up the mystery.Take Jack out of the equation and I would have enjoyed it a lot more(and here he is overplaying it in worst possible way as if he really wants to be a DOCTOR)...who would I have preferred in that particular role...I will think about that. I love the scenes with Jodie and Jo there seems to be a real depth and connection Did she know the plans for this season as when she isn’t doing The FAM or me Mates she has a real wonderfully serious depths to her..am warming to her portrayal

FUGITIVE-too many many questions things that aren’t adding up ,well filmed the reveal is well done and the conflict between the two excellent defintely a rewatch once I have processed some of it which I got roughly before from the excited discussions...ok so far my only real disappointment was Jack.

Out of curiosity why do you hate Jack so much? I think it has to do with Jack being annoying a lot of times and played for laughs. Plus his rather omnipresent sex life with anything and anyone.
Viewed in a more realistic way, Jack is just a terrible person (just take away all the comic relief and see where you end up).
While I do not "hate" him as such, I can understand why Causality finds him annoying. I myself find Jack annoying; Jack and the accompanying juvenile sexual humour are among the main reasons I never have seen the Torchwood TV show (plus the deeply traumatising subject matter... I have heard enough of Children of Earth that I think I would have very deep emotional trauma from watching it).
I know that Causality and I share a common distaste for Torchwood for these reasons.

I liked Jack when he first turned up, but it was definitely a case of diminishing returns for me. His bawdy 'humour' is tiresome & seems not a million miles away from what Barrowman is like in real life. I know we can separate the artist from the character but some of his off-screen antics which he would describe as banter are basically sexual harassment, that puts me off as well.

Ok I think am half way through this series now so breather time it is SO much better than the previous season and very varied but I am enjoying it...and that is more of a revelation than anything else.Highlights for me are Jodie serious in this episode she drew me in when she was not talking, facially . So all in the episodes have been good quality and yes I will watch them again. Glennister playing Edison that was a blast back to Caves of Androzani for me and definitely the reconstructed Humans(i would have ditched the scorpions lol. This WHO could be played so much darker from title graphics onwards and the scenes of the attic on the Masters Tardis and the crew in Africa were a real thrill moment and the finale to that first episode truly hooked me right in for more.Sacha great portrayal as THE MASTER so am looking forward to mor of him which I know is coming.
And by the way this is still an alternate timeline to me hahah I haven’t changed that yet...and no trying to force me to accept it yet ,maybe in the future lol

That makes perfect sense! I like Jack on Who but I am too scared to try Torchwood for its reputation🤔
