Pre-ordered - The Doctors: Tom Baker Years: Behind the Scenes Vol. 1 DVD.
Keith is directly financing the cost of these quality glass mastered DVDs, so help support the continuation of these 'incredible value for money productions'. The era of print on demand books and DVD-Rs are sadly (yet understandably) becoming more prevalent. The DVD manufacturer (Koch Media) of Keith's initial 13 sets of 'The Doctors' pulled out of the market last year.

Picked up the Nest Cottage Chronicles on Audible. Heard some of these on radio some years ago and remember enjoying them so figured I’d give the full saga a look.

Picked up the two Tenth / Thirteenth Doctor stories from Titan today, as I’d not got round to them yet; A Tale of Two Time Lords & Alternating Current.

Got the "flux" iTunes season pass on pre-order. Now the journey can begin for me! Actually looking forward to this. I just hope they get it working that we can watch the episodes on time and do not have to wait 2-3 days (as happened before) for each episode to unlock....

To anyone that thinks we aren’t getting any more The Doctors DVD’s, I’ve heard something to the contrary. A news report from Time Travel TV said that they still aim to do 8 more compilation DVD’. I could be wrong since the post came before the poster that said Keith would be ending the range. Here is the pronto app post for more details. Scroll down to 5th October. timetravel-tv.tumblr.com/

Scroll down to 5th October. timetravel-tv.tumblr.com/5th October - that post about the plans for the range. 18th October - Keith posted on Facebook that due to poor sales the Tom Baker release might be the last. From further comments on that post it seemed sales were way below those needed to make further DVD releases viable. Yesterday - Keith posted that the Tom Baker release was ready to be mailed out. In a comment on that Keith was asked if he’d found a way to continue and he replied he’d found “the only way” and he’ll announce more soon. Seems unlikely sales picked up enough (if a Tom release wasn’t selling…), so he must have found a cheaper way. He’d said DVD-R wasn’t an option, nor streaming as these are repackages of their already streamable Myth Makers range. Maybe next one will just cost more to buy. I’d happily pay more if it meant the range could continue. The more we buy things like this direct from the source, whether that’s TTtv or Telos or Thebes or Obverse or Candy Jar, rather than Amazon or other third party vendors the more money goes straight to those who work so hard to create the wealth of Who-related material we’ve been so lucky to get over the last few years.

Makes sense. I’ve only been buying The Doctors range from TTTV which is what I prefer as opposed to Amazon. I hope there’s still a chance for another DVD imprint to take over from Koch. Refer to my suggestion in my post from 22nd of October.

I’m at the stage now of my marriage, coupled with the severe lack of space in the house, where every package that arrives is met with an icy stare from the wife.
Yesterday:
Wife: What’s this? Me: I think this will be… <opening>… yes, a Stingray book and CD from the Gerry Anderson store. How lovely. Wife: <glowering> Me (contentedly singing): Stingray, Stingray, do do-do do doo-do…
Today:
Wife: Another package! Me: My Big Finish order! This is… <opening>… look, the new River Song box set, and also her Volume 4, and the new Torchwood Soho. Wonderful. Wife: All unnecessary. Me: All very necessary. Wife: <visibly fuming> Me (failing to remember River’s theme so making one up, still contentedly, to the tune of Inspector Gadget*): doo do-do do-do doo, River So-ong, doo do-do do-do do, do-dooo…
After today’s second delivery:
Wife: Explain yourself! Me: Ah, well, now, you’ll love these, possibly, so, right, so, well, this is… Wife: Is…? Me: <opening box> Two Pudseys in Doctor Who costumes. Wife: Are you #%$€ing kidding me?! Cuddly toys. You’re in your 40s! Me: Not toys. Limited edition collectible… bear… things. These are raising money for Children In Need so you can’t be mad at me. Wife: You know you can just donate money? Me: Yes, but this way I also get these. This one is the fourth doctor, look, with a long scarf and that. This one is the eleventh doctor. So cute. Wife: Stop. Ordering. @)&%. Me (ignoring her, singing, extra-contentedly): His name was Pudsey, he was a Who bear, with a bandage on one eye and cool little bow tie…
*if ever a theme tune escapes you, the Gadget theme is an able stand-in. Examples:
Doo do-do do-do doo, Captain Scarlet, doo do-do do-do do, do-dooo!
Doo do-do do-do doo, The Sopranos, doo do-do do-do do, do-dooo!
Doo do-do do-do doo, One Man And His, doo do-do do-do do, do-Dog!

I don't have any physical Doctor Who merch... anyone happen to know of any good TARDIS miniatures out there? Would love a small-ish one to set on my spaceship shelf.

Refer to my suggestion in my post from 22nd of October. Keith is continuing the Doctors range of DVD releases, with the cost now £15 per title to make them viable considering the low sales they’ve been getting. Next one, Pat Troughton Vol 1, was made available for pre-order today for release in February. Got my order in. Here’s hoping this one sells enough to allow the range to be completed.
