Well it was time after doing the Anniversary listen through of Terror of The Sontarans to play the other CD that had fallen down the back of my CD collection and this was it .The trouble is ,I know I enjoy this one and the only ones of the lost stories that I haven’t listened to are; Mission To Magnus and Nightmare Fair, soon to be rectified. But on Putting that one into the player I started pulling out the other lost stories ...Leviathan (love it) The Macros(especially love the ship parts) ok it’s got its faults but it makes me forgive Ingrid Pitt for whatever the hell she was doing to the Myrka in Warriors of the deep. I do so love Alex McQueen and James D’Arcy in this will comment more when I have refreshed my memory 😂

It has to be said my collection is not in alphabetical order or colour coordinated or in numerical order in fact BF is mixed in with every other audio drama some are even upside down....I like it mainly because it annoys people...in fact they aren’t even in the same rooms some of them 😂😂😉

I really like this one. It is quite fun and Peri gets a lot to do and she carries most of the plot. Non the less, Sixie is still great- his attempt at subterfuge is pretty funny and clever. This might be the most fun of all the Lost Stories and it might actually be my favorite.

One of my favourites of the Lost Stories. Some brilliant side characters and with just looking (hearing?) at the villains of the piece it immediately becomes obvious that it’s a P.J. Hammond story. Would highly recommend.

I have listened countless times but our new lockdown means I can totally give my attention again to stuff...I believe if I remember it was to be a Trial Story with Mel

Would highly recommend. I remember reading once here we have blatantly camp villains that in JNTs reign that would have been played down and in RTDs reign we would have them snogging all over Paradise 5 lol less is definitely more

It strikes a good balance between camp and full on pantomime villain. Speaking of, I reckon Alex MacQueen would be terrific in a panto.

I know it was originally written for Mel but if this was given to Nicola am sure she would have really done it justice a lot of the companions can carry things on their own and it’s nice when the script allows am not one of those fans who needs the Doctor in every scene am sure that’s just flattering the supposed ego of the actors...someone Like Peter Davison am sure would be happy to hand screeds of lines away lol

One of my favourites too. It's got some cracking great lines and scenes in it -- "And if we're discovered?" asks the Doctor "I'll stand out like a panda at an ecclesiastical convention." -- and it's another nice step in personal development for Peri. Nicely testament to the potential of the character from an era where the show didn't quite know what to do with its companions. The bones of the story are all P.J. Hammond, but the fleshing out was largely done by Andy Lane, I think, as Hammond was booked out for the period.
In the interviews, it's said that the first episode was created from scratch to offset the potential awkwardness of arriving in media res without the Trial scenes and I'd never have known it. It has this lovely polish to it. I can't tell where Hammond ends and Lane begins. The villains remind me quite a lot of a pair of rogues in an episode of Blake's 7 called "Gambit". A chap called Krantor who styled himself as Freedom City's Prince Regent and his aide, Toyes (written by Messr Bob Holmes). They make a lovely human counterpoint to the utterly alien Elohim (props to Alex Mallinson for their depiction on the cover).
