Hmmm....I wonder what five letter word caught your attention in the announcement? š¤š Couldn't agree more though...September 2022 seems an awful long way away.. Since Tennant came onboard Big Finish several years ago they have released thirteen hours worth of 10th Doctor adventures. In 2021 Big Finish has eleven hours worth of 10th Doctor already on the schedule. One would think that they would not want to release everything they recorded with Tennant in 2021. So yeah, patience is in order but also take a step back and marvel had how the only silver lining of the Covid-19 year gave us so much more 10th Doctor than we would have had without the pandemic. It just makes me wonder how much more they have recorded with Tennant that we know nothing about yet. Oh don't get me wrong, my outer adult agrees with every word. My inner child however has no patience at all.

You know, it occurs to me that if Big Finish werenāt already doing things with Carole Ann Ford for Susanās War (and any future instalments to that series) Susan would probably have made an appearance in this.

I really wish BF would get over doing "[x] returns and meets [y]" releases. I'd rather have more original stories with original characters, or if it has to be returnees, then at least a more even spread rather than the same handful popping up all over the place Iām especially disappointed that all of Tennantās lockdown material seems to come down to this. Out of Time is āTennant meets Fourth/Fifth/Sixth Doctors and Daleks/Angels/Cybermenā, Dalek Universe is āTennant meets everything Terry Nation ever came up withā, Ten & River is self-explanatory and this is āTennant meets the three companions Big Finish have already extensively explored in so many other rangesā. First three 10DA volumes might have just been RTD era style stories, but least they have a semblance of originality. Always worth waiting to hear them before deciding how original or not they are.

Good set of companions on that Tenth Doctor set. Yeah, looking forward to this. I do wish this was done a few years ago (which I do understand why it wasn't) as I think Ian would have been a great companion for 10 to revisit.

Oh God, more Leela/Louise Jameson. I would love to know what dirt she has on Mr. Briggs. Why not have 10 meeting Jamie, Polly or Turlough or go out on a limb and have him meet Hex, Charlie and Lucie Miller? I mean, I'm still going to get it but a little bit of innovation would be nice and not always use the same companions #neverhappy ha
They couldn't really have him meet Jamie in the traditional sense, though. Either he's with 2 or his memory would have been wiped.

Admittedly at face-value, I have mixed feelings about this, given that a lot of the recent Tennant announcements have "hooks" (or, as some would say, gimmicks) - Dalek Universe, multi-Doctor adventures, and now classic companions - and the companions used here are ones that have tended to have a lot of use by BF.
That being said... More Tenth Doctor/Tennant is always good and the stories sound intriguing, and I'm sure they'll be fantastic and I'll enjoy the hell out of them despite my reservations. And it's great to see the Axons back! They're such an underused enemy.
Also I think we need to take into account that this was recorded during the pandemic so I'd imagine that BF worked with the actors they had access to for remote recording, which they were possibly limited with, which is why we have these three companions and not more underused ones. (Or maybe I'm wrong and they just decided to do these three because of popularity or some other reason.)

Well, great news. The recent Tennant releases were fun, so this is a no-brainer for me to buy. Am I tired of Ace and Leela? Yes. Especially Leela. But I admit I am definitely looking forward to 10 meeting Ace. It just sounds like a fun combination. Of course, we still need McGann's wish fulfilled and have 8 meet Ace....

Well this is unexpected but hey more 10th Doctor adventures are worth it K9, Leela, Nyssa and Ace eh
Doesnāt really feel special as 10 met K9 in several tv episodes
I just wish that we had 10 met Jamie, The Brig or Romana A big finish companion like Lucie would have also have been more exciting
Still something to preorder for the future

More Tennant is amazing. Would have preferred some solo 10th doctor adventures. But enjoyed School Reunion so can't really complain about more of that sort of thing.

Poor Frazer - "How come you guys didn't ask me?" Have to love how Frazer Hines still has enthusiasm for Doctor Who. If they continued the Out of Time stories beyond the initial trilogy, Iād honestly love to see his Second Doctor meet the Tenth.

Fair enough. On reflection I think I spoke overly harshly there. I am willing to be persuaded by further details on Dalek Universe, just not convinced by what was announced initially. I think the longer post I did on the second page better articulates my frustrations atm.

Well, my first reaction was pretty much "another one?!".
Am I going to get it? Yeah, probably. Am I glad that it's (almost) two years away? Certainly.
EDIT - Whilst I do (of course) adore 10, I grew up with him after all, I am getting a little overwhelmed (for want of a better word) with all the content we've been getting with him recently...

I think the longer post I did on the second page better articulates my frustrations atm. Thatās all fine. I always find it a little odd that for a series taking place in an existing universe, there seems to be a cut off point for originality. The Doctor and Nyssa is fine... but the moment you add Daleks, it canāt be original. Doctor and Rose is fine, but Doctor and River canāt be original. I understand the feeling, but certainly it can sometimes be easier to get something original out of something old - new ideas arenāt truly new after all, they tend to be two or more old ideas put together in a new way (thatās a general truism, not just Dr Who stuff). Certainly, one of my first thoughts when dealing with an old villain/monster is to wonder what new angle there is.

Hello again.
Mmm... This is interesting news. It all depends on the stories of course. I am a great fan of all four companions. Louise Jameson's Leela I saw in a britbox special offer dr who watch of seasons 14 and 15 this year. I was struck by even in a dreadful story she brings a great deal of strength, intelligence and intuition to the companion role.
Nyssa I always liked as the companion, although not always used very effectively in the tv series, her character has been given much more to do by Big Finish. The Peterloo Massacre, Spare Parts and The Butcher of Brisbane all demonstrate that beneath the calm, collected exterior there was passion and fire, particularly where she saw injustice and suffering. Meeting such a different Doctor to her own will be fascinating for her.
Now Ace, I'm a bit confused, is she now being played as older Ace, head of her own company as shown in the season 26 collection trailer, which would be great or Ace when she was younger. I would love to hear how Ace has changed since leaving the Doctor.
I'm also pleased that John Leeson's K9 is back. I've always liked the tin dog. K9 is a great character, considering he is a machine. There is almost a smug edge to him sometimes which makes me laugh.
It will be interesting to see the different dynamics between these companions and the Tenth Doctor.
Although, it would have been nice to him meet up with Polly or Jamie and Zoe, or Vicki and Steven, Tegan and Turlough would have been interesting too. Anyway, it does remind me a bit of the season of stories where Doctors 5,6 and 7 where paired up with different companions. The Fifth Doctor, Steven and Vicki story was superb.
