out today
The Time Agency has been meddling with time ever since its inception. Of all the days in history, today is a day that will define the agency forever.
Today is the day of their greatest achievement. Today is the day they removed an entire galaxy from the timeline.
Today is the day the Doctor's shutting them down.

Enjoyed this one. It’s in the style of the Ninth Doctor Short Trips in the sense that the story exists to fill in a passing reference in a televised story, this time something the Doctor says in The End of Time. It’s authentic to the era, with the Time War dominating that Specials year and now Time Lord Victorious. Reading the synopsis I thought this was unfortunately timed as it sounded similar to the Koturruh and what they do in TLV, but they make a passing reference to The Waters of Mars, and in turn TLV, so it ends up becoming a nice epilogue and pushes the Doctor’s motives after the events of that.
Neve’s Tenth Doctor is very Dick Van Dyke in a Scottish accent, but it’ll raise a smile... I thought she sounded like Pam off Gavin & Stacey at one point!

Good little story that fills a quirky continuity mention and kind of deals with an outstanding issue.
10th in full on Easterners mode
Solid end to the Pay For Individual Stories in the Range.

Despite this being the penultimate monthly Short Trip, and also the first to feature the Tenth Doctor with the winning Paul Spragg entry out next week, I love how this one serves as a dramatic continuity bridge with the Series 4 specials. Outstanding storytelling!

This was a decent exploration of post-Mars pre-End Tenth Doctor and of the Time Agency. As debuts go (Napton doesn’t appear to have written anything for Big Finish before) this was pretty solid.
Its pretty serendipitous that this came out near TLV, as like Out of Time this kinda serves nearly as an epilogue. Certainly having experienced TLV puts more weight on the Doctor’s conclusion that time wins. I also liked how that served as an answer to the mystery of what happened to the Time Agency. We don’t really need to see it as they’re clearly going too far and it’s made explicit that this will one day blow up in their faces.

Oh man! I don't have anything to say yet, but I'm really excited to see this is out now! And doubly excited that y'all are enjoying it--it's been near the top of my most-anticipated list since I first saw the description back in August, IIRC. Love the premise. I can't wait to give this a listen!
EDIT: And it's good! Really good! Maybe not my favorite Short Trip, but excellent all the same. Always felt odd to me that the Doctor (or Time Lords) would suffer anyone else in the universe to possess time travel technology (yes, I know: everyone can travel through time in this setting--it was a mistake). Wasn't a big fan of the idea that the Doctor would be so closely-monitored by the Time Agency, either--makes them seem too omniscient to know what happened during Waters of Mars. That said, I don't know who recorded this, but I loved her voice. Will definitely listen to anything else she records.

Nice little story, if a bit predictable. But very well performed by Neve Macintosh.

I thought this was an excellent short trip, and I always love Neve MacIntosh. Her Ten accent made me laugh. A great choice for the last Short Trip of the year.
