So I want to know if anyone has any stories they think are underrated or overrated. I personally think that Zagreus and The Rings of Akhaten are underrated and The End of Time is overrated.

I think Excelis Dawns is one of the most underrated BF releases. It's funny, adventuorous, poigant and features a quite different performance from Davison.
On tv...Timelash or The Horns Of Nimon. I'd never say they were great but they're ust so much fun beause of Darrow and Crowden.

I have a soft spot for Invisible Enemy. The science was pretty off (while usually bothers me) but the scenario made for some funny dialogue between the Doctor and Leela. Plus K9's first appearance. I like the Fantastic Voyage vibe.

I don't hear people talk much about "Seasons of Fear" or "The Sandman", both of which I think are excellent (minus two small scripting errors in the former).
My feelings for "Jubilee" are lukewarm; I think it's overrated despite some very fine writing and acting.
I quite like "Time and the Rani". Granted, it has its fair share of problems (notably the info-dump scene), but I still like it. And why don't people think more highly of "the Romans" or "Image of the Fendahl"? Both are stories I've watched and enjoyed many times.
I do not understand the fan love for "Inferno". It's not bad, but also isn't as great as people seem to think. The slip sideways is entertaining for the series, but not seven episodes worth of entertainment. Nor do I understand why other fans like "Meglos".
There, I've limited my comments to the Classic series, and to the first 50 BF main range releases.

I thought The Time Monster was underrated - the story might have been very cliché, but I enjoyed the interaction between the Master and the Doctor, and the extra bits of information about the Doctor's childhood. I think it was also the first time we heard the Tardis had telepathic circuits (don't quote me on that).
I thought Jubilee was quite overrated to be honest.
Cheers
Tony

I love Jubilee, but I don't understand why people like The Stones of Venice. One of my least favorite Main Range stories. I really don't like it. And Seasons of Fear is one of my favorites.
I really like the Krotons. I think I'm the only one.

Lurkers at Sunlight's Edge. It doesn't come off well when compared to the previous release, A Death in the Family (which is phenomenal and could have easily been the end of Hex's story, so any story would look bad following it), but in isolation is a cracking tale. It certainly helps that apart from a couple of mentions of the TARDIS being white and a reference or two to an aspect of A Death in the Family, Lurkers could take place at any point (at least prior to the Elder Gods arc) for this TARDIS team (which given the intensity of the following stories in terms of arc is, in hindsight, refreshing). It'd be great to get Marty Ross to do another story, considering he also wrote the strong Jamie Companion Chronicle Night's Black Agents (part of the Sixth Doctor and Jamie trilogy and gets at best mixed reception over at Gallifrey Base).
It's also interesting to note that there are aspects of the marketing teasing the idea that Hex may have died in either of the two preceding stories, as the synopsis doesn't refer to him by name (the only clue is that is says companions, plural) and he doesn't feature in the trailer, in footage or dialogue. It'd have been interesting to have followed developments at the time, as Big Finish were releasing these stories, just to read the reaction and speculation from the marketing. A Death in the Family even had a variation cover with Nobody No-One in the place Hex would end up occupying on the actual cover, like how Black and White, and Gods and Monsters each had a pre-release cover concealing spoilers that was changed shortly before release.

A lot of people seem to slag Zagreus. I'll admit it's a bit long in the tooth, but for my $.02, it's still a very good story.

I too think Zagreus is great.
But, you do have to be able to set aside enough time to get through it relatively quickly, since it could easily get confusing.

I too liked (not loved) Zagreus, and I really enjoyed Minuet In Hell.
The End of Time was overblown, overlong nonsense i.m.o and I still can't work out if I like or hate The Web Planet...it's certainly different, I'll give them that...

Ugh, Minuet in Hell was like listening to a troupe of Yosemite Sam impersonators...lol. To each their own though, right?
I'll also echo some others in this thread by calling out The End of Time as being tremendously overrated with the caveat that I was enjoying it right up until "the Master race" at the end of Part 1. It was at that point it began its nosedive for me, culminating in RTD & Tennant's ludicrously self-involved final moments.

I think Listen is definitely overrated, as is The Impossible Astronaut/Day Of The Moon. In fact, the whole Silence/A Good Man Goes To War/Fake Amy story arc is overrated IMO.

I think most of Matt Smiths run is overrated it's why hes my least favorite most of the stories are Moffat hyping up whats in his secret treasure chest and it ends up being a pile of the same dog turd it was last time he did it. I think Moffat can be a great writer he certainly is elsewhere but he has too much reign on doctor who and needs to be settled down.

Silver Nemesis I think is underrated on TV as there are elements of a really good story there, just either needed pruning or an extra episode Winter for the Adept is underrated on audio. I just love that story.
A Good Man Goes to War is overrated on TV, again such a great story but needed to be two parts I think Omega is a bit Overrated on audio for me. Yes I did enjoy it but I expected more from what I was told about it

It had an intriguing set-up and I liked how it told the stories. The "American" accents were awful, but whatever. The only one that has truly annoyed me was the male narrator on BBC's second Fourth Doctor set, fourth episode, with a horrible fake NYC accent.
