Sounds like great fun! Two more sets is great too as I agree that there is so much still left to explore!

This is a great series so I am glad there are 6 more episodes on he way. Slightly surprised by this though, given that we know the end point of the series - Liv meeting the Dr and Helen again in the closing scene of Escape from Kaldor - I assumed The Robots 4.3 would have a very definite end tying back to this point. Obviously not though, if we are getting 2 more series.
I wonder if that means the ongoing thread is being stretched out, perhaps with more side trips and non-arc stories added along the way. Or maybe of course series 5 & 6 are missing episodes from series 1-4?
Apologies for posting about series 5&6 in the series 4 thread folks

Oh I was at work so didn’t see there are to be two more sets-well I was really hoping this would tie up everything when Liz rejoins but if it’s decent enough (sadly without David Collings) then I hope it remains a high standard

Am guessing too that it must have sold well and people enjoyed it to get two more series or the four box sets could have been 4 stories each and two left over-am only joking 😂

Awesome. I am happy they extend the series and do not rush things and I am also happy this is such a success. Instant pre-order for that bundle. This series has become better and better and I really enjoy this. I think I am myself surprised how well it works and that is mainly thanks to the great leads and their fantastic chemistry.

And it is a nice change from contemporary earth.

I've thoroughly enjoyed every entry in this series so far, so I find myself surprised by the way I feel about the announcement of two further sets. One of things that had me most excited about The Robots is that we knew exactly what it was going to be right from the outset - four three-disc box sets, each episode representing one month for the year Liv was away. Despite my enjoyment of the series, I feel slightly disappointed that we're getting more. By the end of Volume 3, it really felt like we were setting up the endgame in the fourth set, and now we're being told we're only halfway through. Having thought of this series as only ever being four sets for so long, regardless of how I think about it consciously I know that, on a subconscious level, everything after the fourth set is going to feel like we're dragging things out for the sake of it, not because the story requires it (which I know is a fault with my brain and not the story itself, but I do think it's going to spoil my enjoyment of the series as it continues).
So yeah. Excited for the fourth set, but not thrilled there's going to be more afterwards. Wish I could logically explain why I feel that way, but I don't think I'll ever really be able to make sense of how my brain works...

Whilst I wasn't originally sold on it (it did feel a little bit like a cash-grab), I have gradually been enjoying this series as the sets were released and am certainly looking forward to part 4 and the original finale. The announcement of sets 5 & 6 I will admit I was happy about (I can't really complain about more Liv & Kaldor), but I am wondering where the story is going to go after this particular arc has, presumably, been wrapped up after episode 12...? Will I be pre-ordering the pair? Yeah, probably. Aaaaaam I waiting until after the release of part 4/the storyline announcements? Definitely.

I totally get where you are coming from but as they say it is now what it is but somehow am sure this was decided probably even after the second set was getting done...and as I said if it was a four disc set we would only have two episodes to complete it lol.Plus budgeting money hahah.I did get a wave of disappointment when I reread and said wtf two more sets????Somyour mood was perfectly understandable On the plus side it is kind of nice continuing in the one loacation and no time jumping there is enough about Kaldor to retain my interest but I think they may stretch the story

I take them by their word that they just had some more story ideas and since the series was successful, they decided to also include these ideas. Pretty sure they can justify the new stories and ideas and that they will be worthwhile, otherwise, the whole extention would have been pretty pointless.
And to be honest, the stuff they have come up with so far has been a highlight of BF releases.
So I am optimistic about this.

I mean... having heard zero episodes of this series so far - is it possible that Liv will catch up with the Doctor in Vol. 4 with Tula, Toos, D84, etc. in the lead roles for Vol. 5 & 6?
PS. D84 should have been a companion!

I would say Liv's year on Kaldor might be the longest year every, but we lived through 2020 so I won't.
(And do we know how long a year is on Kaldor? It might be longer than an Earth year.
