So I thought it would fun to do a thing where we say 10 random and interesting things about ourselves, we either haven’t talked about on the forum or haven’t talked much about. It can be absolutely anything!
Me: 1. I have flown in a World War One biplane. It went sideways! 2. I am covered head to toe in freckles. When I was a kid people would joke that they could play connect the dots with freckles I have so many! 3. I have two dogs, one min pin and one dachshund/cocker spaniel mix! They are a bonded pair! 4. Growing up I had an obsession with fairies. When my relatives took me to Cottingly Glen when I was 7, I cried because I thought was going to see real fairies! 5. My grandfather was a massive sci-fi and horror geek. I barely remember a single visit to my grandparents house where he wasn’t watching something with either UFOs or monsters. Also he painted the ceiling of his living room so it looked like it had dripping stalactites in a cave, had a dead tree in his backyard that he nailed old cds and action figures to it as an art project (yes people did stop and stair), insisted everyone call him an intentionally silly nickname that he created for himself rather than his given name, did strange experiments in his basement and dressed up as Santa Claus regularly. Basically he was the neighborhood eccentric. 6. As a teenager I had an obsession with Monty Python! I watched every episode of Flying Circus, all the movies, and then most of the members non python filmography! I also had slightly awkward crushes on many of the members of python. 7. Also as a teenager I did lots of black and white photography and used to develop the film and prints myself. I used to hang out in graveyards and old houses taking pictures with my short hair, my long trench coats, and knee high leather motorcycle boots. I also taught myself how to do trick photos posing different magazine cutouts together similar to Terry Gilliam animation. I also loved doing effects with the development chemicals. 8. I spent the last 4 or 5 years precovid traveling back and forth between the US and UK. I would go back and forth so often sometimes I would get confused about what accents people were meant to have, what currency I was meant to use, and what side of the road we were on. 9. As you guys know I have an extremely overactive imagination, well sometimes that imagination got me into interesting situations growing up: Like the time in elementary school I once convinced myself my classmates where in a cult of werecats and I asked if I could join and they looked at me like I had two heads. Or the time when I was visiting my Yorkshire relatives and my older cousin had me legitimately convinced she was actually a vampire! 10. I had some very odd fictional character and celebrity crushes growing up. My first fictional crush was on Jack Skellington, because I was attracted to not only his singing voice but the fact he was a skeleton! What are 10 random and interesting things about you?

Haha, I will join in the fun. As long as this is not taken too seriously.
1. Not a fan of helicopter rides, especially in open helicopters without doors. Most terrifying 30mins of my life. 2. Also not a fan of rollercoasters, for similar reasons, most terrifying 2 mins of my life. 3. Animal nut, as in having done some crazy research projects in my time, went to remote NZ islands to collect 100s of wild bird poo and blood samples and examined them in the lab; also spend 2 months of my life in a romantic fishing village in the North of Tenerife (non-tourist area) to help in an animal shelter and to neuter dogs and cats; later in NZ I trained my cat like a dog, he did all the usual tricks and heeled and I went walkies with him; sadly, that led to several incidents where my cats was beating up the neighbour's little dogs... 4. Nearly had my nose and my nipples bitten off by rebellious penguins while helping with animal rehabilitation during my time in NZ; Penguins are awesome! 5. Best job I ever had and very likely ever will have was my summer job in NZ- I did the bird counts on the local conservation land. I was basically paid to walk through the rainforest for 8 hours a day looking for rare birds for 2 months during summer, and being allowed to stay for free at the local conservation campsites. That was pretty much living the dream. Well, at least now I am living in a remote village and have an owl living above my bedroom window... 6. I have always been a tomboy and in my childhood, the best present I ever got was from my granddad who was the only one who ever tried to understand me (and not just labeling me "abnormal"); He gave me a plastic castle with knights and catapults, which were great fun because I could shoot them at my baby brother. My parents, especially my mum, were not impressed at all, since they tried in vain to make me a princess and never got me to play with dolls.... 7. Won the region youth science competition in school with my completely self- styled ant farm and experiments. I built everything myself and did all the science myself, and got ZERO help from my teachers in school. My biology teacher just told me "What you are doing is bullsh*t" and when I won, he told me "I did not know they had such low standards". Yeah, he was a bit of a d*ck. I just thought, well, "Leck mich am Arsch" (German for, well, you can guess) and did my own thing and was happy about all the great prizes I won. 8. Total nerd. My dad made the terrible mistake in introducing me to both Star Trek and miniature war gaming. He himself was never serious about it, but the mere suggestion fell on fertile ground with me. My favorite museum as a kid was the German miniature museum, where HUGE painted historic armies are locked in eternal historical battles. I could stare at these for hours. I think my parents curse the days they took me. For most of my life, I have been a Trekkie, Warhammer player and now I even have a Sixie costume. 9. Once collided with a huge carp while scuba diving in VERY bad visibility conditions and neither the fish nor I had been looking where we were going 10. Funnily enough had the same thing happen to me while doing my bird counts and nearly collided with a hunting NZ falcon (a rare bird); I was walking along the oath taking notes, and the falcon was hunting a blackbird along the path and we both did not notice each other until nearly was too late

I would have been scared stiff in that airplane! And I also have lots of freckles- I even have a huge one on my shoulder that looks as if it had merged from a thousand little ones I would have loved your grandfather! Haha, good on you for your imagination! In kindergarten, I often had naughty ideas and was the instigator for quite a few ideas, like the whole group making paperplanes and let them fly (and made a huge mess) or similar...

my grandfather actually lived in Germany for a little while when he was in the army I hope he had a good time! He did! It was in the 50s when he lived there, but my grandparents house was covered in souvenirs from his stay! He had all sorts of German beer steins and a cuckoo clock that fascinated me whenever it went off!
