I love these concepts!đSo clever!
I might try and read both of them!
Can we please get one with 12 and Clara? I have several classics I would love to see them in!
Sidenote: we really donât get enough 12 content!

I wonder if thisâll be a case of they give a science fiction explanation behind these crossovers (for example a society deliberately models itself on the Oz books) or itâll just be a case of the Doctor and co literally land in the Land of Oz and meet all of its inhabitants?

I suspect it might be the 'real' place (Jac Rayner has already used an un-Battlefield-esque Camelot in one of the alternate endings to "Wolfsbane"). Just doing Oz and no other fictional content would be a waste of the Land of Fiction.

Considering Jacqueline Rayner is penning these, should we expect the Grel to make a cameo appearance?

Considering Jacqueline Rayner is penning these, should we expect the Grel to make a cameo appearance? I don't know, but New Fact! The covers are out, and reveal that one of the books does include a familar adversary.
Great covers, and look like proper classic Puffins.

I looked these up as I liked the covers. However it is made clear that they are a collaboration between Puffin books and BBC Children's books. It seems similar to the comment by Trevor Baxendale - no problem having merchandise aimed at hooking in younger fans (in fact, its great), but there used to be a middle ground, with the BBC books range from 1996-2005, which appealed to teens upwards:

Been looking forward to these. Love the covers, though itâs a shame that Jodie isnât on hers; they couldâve preserved the Missy surprise that way. And the Doctor and Donna is still very much a novelty expanded universe wise, especially outside of Big Finish.

Official News Piece for Camelot and OZ Crossovers
The blurb for Oz {Spoiler} does rather suggest it's the Land of Fiction, does it not?
May be difficult to get hold of these while Penguin and Waterstones are fighting.

If the Oz book doesnât start with the TARDIS landing on the Wicked Witch of the East Iâm not going to be happy.

Legend of Camelot arrived earlier. Canât wait to get stuck in. The cover is gorgeous and it even smells like those Penguin Classics, as bizarre as that sounds!

Just finished âWonderful Doctor...â marvellous fun. I did not feel patronised or spoken down to (for the people afraid of it not being pitched at adults). It was a lovely slice of thirteenth Doctor goodness. Charming. Witty. Just enuogh creepy or scary moments. And most importantly .... {Spoiler} NONE OTHER THAN FREAKING K9

Really enjoyed Legends of Camelot. It was a lot of fun, great to revisit the Doctor and Donna and itâs a brilliant story for her in its own right.
I wasnât actually sure what to expect from the book between the vague premise and the cheap cover price. I think maybe I was assuming this was going to be a straightforward retelling with our TARDIS team crammed in. Itâs so much more than that, though, itâs a story that uses King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table as the backdrop, but it feels substantial as a Doctor Who story.
Will definitely be picking up The Wonderful Doctor of Oz.
