Since April 14th is Peter Capaldi’s birthday I thought it would be good to start a thread where we all discuss what we love and appreciate about the 12th Doctor and Peter Capaldi himself! You can also talk about how you relate to 12 and if you ever met Peter Capaldi!
Mine:
It’s no secret that 12 is my absolute favorite Doctor and that Peter Capaldi is one of my favorite actors.
12 has one of the best and most satisfying character archs of any Doctor! Capaldi puts so much into a single glance. He delivers speech’s like no one else and came you laugh and cry in equal measure. 12 is also really good neurodiverse representation which I really appreciate as a neurodiverse person myself! 12 is also one half of the best DW romances with Clara, a storyline that has captured my heart and has never let go.
Peter himself is also an amazing ambassador for who and always has time for fans! I got to talk to him during a zoom charity quiz he hosted last year and showed him my fan art and ask him about Lair of the White Worm. It was one of the best days of 2020 I ever had!

I find 12 very therapeutic. In fact both 12’s “I am an idiot speech”, “scared is a super power” scene, and Peter’s own writing about “never tell yourself your crap” got me through a bad RSD episode after a big break up.
12 also has inspired my imagination a lot! I have come up with many different stories and ideas about 12 and Clara, including a younger alter ego of 12!
I even redecorated my room to be themed around 12 and Clara with lovely artwork of the two of them! It’s like a magical world in my room with the two of them everywhere!
