Not sure how many of you played these games back in the day, but the alien on the cover reminds me a great deal of Crypto from Destroy All Humans!
Now that would make for one hell of a crossover...

This is more like it. This collection of short, varied, self-contained story synopses already sounds like it'll be much more accessible than what I'd personally found to be the convoluted impenetrable "it'll sell just because" noise that preceded it.

Crypto feels like he'd be the secondary antagonist/reluctant companion in a Benny story. (Also the original game's been remastered and is coming to the Nintendo Switch soon!)

That would make for a very interesting match up. Especially if you go down the reluctant companion route. With Crypto having to be on his best behaviour throughout the adventure until Benny lets him wreak havoc at the end of the piece with his destructive weaponry.

I hope Nick Briggs doesn't see this! I know it's his script (or at least the first 20 pages of it) that won Eccleston over and that everybody involved worked really hard at it. I'm a random nobody that bought it and happened to be really underwhelmed by the end result. I don't want to derail this thread with talk about Volume 1 (I've already said quite a bit over on the relevant thread). Just want to make it clear that my honest reaction is strictly my own and directed solely at the story. I meant nothing remotely personal toward any of the creative team that worked on it. The details teased for this set sound more in line for what I'd personally like to hear from the Ninth Doctor and I'm looking forward to it.
EDIT: Thought about this and wanted to add a little more. I really wouldn't want Nick to see my post because I wouldn't want to make him feel bad. That's why I'd never do something like tweet it directly at him. Still, any of us should be able to share and discuss our honest reactions on a quiet friendly forum without worrying about invoking anyone's wrath. Otherwise what's the point? If he or other creators search out fan discussion and found my post or posts like it, then that's out of my hands.

I think the poster may have been referring to Nick Briggs recent meltdown on facebook where someone posted a 7/10 review and he got really mad at them (he wasn’t tagged then either). Its since become something of a meme where if people say something even slightly negative about him people will comment hope he doesn’t see this or that was a “bit mean” (another Briggs quotes) i don’t think they were actually saying you shouldn’t have posted your opinion.

Ah, gotcha! Thanks for that. Yes, I'd seen that unnecessary reaction (and the resulting memes!) over what read like an otherwise fair and innocuous review. It probably informed the overcompensation in my response.

I didn't realise that an offhanded comment, that I thought might be humorous, would cause such trouble! I apologise and didn't mean anything by it at all. I also completely agree with you though.

The latest Vortex has a lengthy article about this set that’s worth a read. The three stories sound great, nice and varied and distinctly different to Ravagers, which appeals to me.

Honestly I hope volume 2 is better as I honestly the novelty of Chris eccleston returning has worn off I found that volume 1 was honestly bland relistening to it Eccleston does a good performance with what he was given but honestly he doesn’t feel like the ninth doctor I think character wise you could easily swap him with another doctor like McGann and you couldn’t tell the difference
