Anything could happen stop trying to bring me down That's not what I'm doing. I'm responding to comments in this forum which I thought I was allowed to do. The origin of this was someone wanting Capaldi to be showrunner. I cannot see that happening. Ever. Yes I know that but he could come back to write or direct an episode some time as a one time thing. You are allowed to respond to comments but I thought you were purposely being all anti-Capaldi in order to get a reaction out of me.

I wonder what the NMDs would get mad at first: her as a female showrunner, or that she makes (shock, gasp, horror) 'soaps operas' aka some of the most popular and enduring drama on UK TV. But of course they don't count as experience, right? They do know RTD did soaps and that the first showrunner was a woman, Verity Lambert? I can always crack a smile whenever I see Verity Lambert's name be brought up. Here was a producer. She was made a Fellow of the British Film Institute, won the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Women in Film and Television Awards, has an Order of the British Empire for her services in film and television, and was still working as a producer right up until her passing in 2007. I would call that a very happy career. If not for production troubles, she could have been a front-runner for bringing the series back after its 1989 hiatus. Under her own production company -- Cinema Verity. Not bad. Not bad at all.

He better be back for the 60th and hopefully BF one day! It would be heartbreaking if he never played 12 again! That's a matter of opinion, personally I hope we never see him again.

Go to the Divergent Wordsmiths website and check out Genesis of Terror on our "Main Releases" page. On the table of contents in the PDF, you'll see six numbered entries. Look at the line beneath The Many Monks, where a seventh bullet point would be (it's a patch of blank space) and put your mouse cursor over it until you get a hand. The icon for a hyperlink. Click on it. It exists in reality, it was written back in 2019 by constonks and is called Welsh Davros.

(Er... what thread are we in again?)

Prospective interpretations of the future, through past evidence, as viewed through present-day analysis. Quite suitably... What's the word...?

If There is a new showrunner coming in i can imagine that he or she would want a Fresh Start so its unlikely Jo Martin will be the next doctor

Old face, fresh personality. If you'll forgive the pun..who knows? 😊

Old face, fresh personality. If you'll forgive the pun..who knows? 😊 Hopefully. It would certainly be something new for the show to have the next doctor being someone we have already met. Then again we don't know what is coming up, maybe Jo Martin plays a significant part in 13s final stories? It would be a shame for the first person of colour to play Doctor Who to be not much more than an extended cameo.

Yes, it would be a poor start for a new showrunner to cast a new actor into a role simply because they happened to be around. That being said, Jo Martin *could* be the next Doctor if Chibnall does a Moffatesque last-series reboot and officially introduces her as such; however, unless she's contracted as the next Doctor it's stil an unlikely casting.
Peter Capaldi as showrunner... look, let's be realistic. He's only made short pieces; a big series like this is beyond his experience. (Remember, he's only got *half* an Oscar).
One strong candidate, though, to run in the initialised footsteps of JNT and RTD - JMS?
This is an important article, incidentally, because it proves that DW fans are fundamentally stupid and shouldn't bother discussing such things because we don't understand them - see the comment under the article that insists that JMS cannot take a non-acting role because fifty years ago the actors' union Equity was very strong.
