DWM’s editor sounds very happy about RTD2’s prospects for DWM this month. This issue does have a piece by RTD about the announcement of Gatwa and he promises to start doing full Production Notes again later in the year (after Centenary’s aired I’d assume) which Chibnall has only done very sporadically. Yes its fascinating isn't it? RTD unashamedly feed the Media keep the public enthused, where as Chibnail tell them nothing, change the fundamentals in a way the viewing public can't get , still tell them nothing, so go looking for a reaction and the rest as they say. Regards mark687 Oh Yeah chibnall certainly changed the fundamentals…..

Regards mark687 It's worth saying, for the sake of balance, that the last issue was very Chibnall-centric, with a pretty exhaustive interview with him.

This issue does have a piece by RTD about the announcement of Gatwa and he promises to start doing full Production Notes again later in the year (after Centenary’s aired I’d assume) which Chibnall has only done very sporadically. This issue does also have a complete lack of any Chibnall era content. Even the comic is given over to Peter Cushing’s Dr Who (ahead of blu-Ray releases of the Dalek films they’ve got a few features on them, so it’s not totally random). The future is here it seems. I don’t think it’s any secret that the production under Chibnall has been kept closely under wraps and that’s included DWM being excluded. I don’t think there’s ever been bad blood as such, but it really does make you realise just how much DWM content was comprised of behind the scenes, previews, etc. of the RTD & Moffat productions. And, for me, the magazine has seen a quality decline to coincide with that, as they’ve let the obscure and niche dictate the main content more. I don’t blame them; it’s clear why they’ve had to do it and it is what it is. Having said that, I thought the Flux and Legend of the Sea Devils coverage was very good to say they still weren’t in studio at the time. And the Chibnall & Strevens interviews have been great too. I don’t agree with the Cushing comic given the issues they’ve faced actually getting a comic strip out over the past couple of years. Should’ve been a separate gift if they wanted it, but hey ho.

Seeing Disney, itself, stand up for Moses Ingraham after the racist abuse she directly received from reactionaries may well be the spark of something that, I think, has been long overdue and maybe Bad Wolf/BBC will take the hint too: for media companies to actually have a duty of care for their talent and to make the online space a better one for both employees and the customer/fan community. That abusive behaviour does not, and never will, be the same thing as 'fair criticism' of someone's work or performance. Hopefully, whatever comes next, Ncuti, Yasmin and anyone else knows they're not being left to fend for themselves.
(Obviously, I'm as hesitant to give the 'good guy' point to Disney of all people as much as anyone, but hey, broken clocks.)

Although the irony of Disney- given what they did to their promotional posters of the previous recent SW movies, removing main actors based on the pigmentation of their skin.
Not on at all.

Is it irony, or is it a sign of them doing better? We shouldn’t keep bringing these things up when they’re evolving into something better. And, to be pedantic, Finn wasn’t removed from the poster, it was Chewbacca, not that it justifies the alteration. Without money from China from the Phase 4 of Marvel films, who always seemed to be the big market they catered to, I think it’s giving Disney the push they need.

I am sure it was Finn who was removed (?)
Either way the irony of Disney placating to that "demand". It's insulting.
EDIT: I just googled it, correct, Finn was shrunk/reduced in size. My bad!

Well, last two were negative, so let me post up something more upbeat here. And I must say, Ncuti pulls off stripes:

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Filming down in Cardiff with David, Catherine and Yasmin. So, UNIT in the 60th. They’ve featured in every other anniversary special, so not really a surprise there. This also appears to support the idea that what we’ve seen has been the filming of the 60th rather than Tennant “having another go” at the part which the tinfoil hat branch of fandom have latched on to.

UNIT is so baked into the nostalgia for the show, it's really odd that there's never been a spin-off show. Especially after the success of things like the X-Files way back in the 90s.

I could have swore there were actually plans for a tv unit spin off show in 1977 I think they ended up as that Autons series of BBV videos. I don't remember hearing anything about a TV series back then.
