I renewed my F1TV subscription a couple of days ago. The first classic race I watched from it was the 1990 US Grand Prix, which is notable for Jean Alesi fighting Ayrton Senna for the lead.

Two races:
2010 Bahrain Grand Prix: two big F1 names returned, Schumacher and Senna, Lotus returned as a constructor, and it was Felipe Massa's first race since his accident at the previous year's Hungarian Grand Prix.
1982 Caesars Palace Grand Prix: notable for Keke Rosberg clinching the world championship after what was a controversial and tragic season. I stuck the race on following the announcement of the new Las Vegas GP.

1985 Australian Grand Prix. It’s good that Sky’s own F1 channel were showing this, as F1TV only have it as a 12 minute cutdown. aussiedoctorwhofan said the entire state stopped to watch it.

Almost like Beatlemania (for those who have seen the footage of when they played here).
Was a boom for the tourism industry etc.

Yep, it was huge. Could hear it very clearly from my house as I studied for my final school exams. I was close enough to the track to be able to pick up the on-site radio broadcast - so I got into it in a big way. I went along one year (not 85, but sometime in the late 80s); was amazing

I’ve been watching four different US F1 races ahead of the Miami Grand Prix today.
1982 USA West GP at Long Beach. 1983 USA West GP, also at Long Beach. 1990 US Grand Prix at Phoenix. 2006 US Grand Prix at Indianapolis.

UEFA have blamed Liverpool fans for the Champions League final being delayed. That’s just stupid arrogance by UEFA. Really makes my blood boil.

Watched the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix. Notable of course for being the longest F1 race ever, clocking in at just over 4 hours.

2007 Canadian Grand Prix. This is of course of where Lewis Hamilton got his first F1 win. The race is also known for Robert Kubica's huge accident.

Yes, it’s just idiotic that this sort of thing still happens. As for Piquet, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. He once made insulting comments about Nigel Mansell and his wife, as well as referring to Ayrton Senna as gay even now, despite the fact that he has had at least four girlfriends.

As well as the obvious, being called gay isn't actually an insult- it's nothing to be ashamed of if you are that way.
