And, of course, Ruth Maxtible in Evil Of The Daleks. One of those actors who kept herself in work with sheer talent and being able to fit in from comedy to drama, period to sci-fi. From Who to Dark Season and for the public at large most notably Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads, Boon or Still Open All Hours.

Actor Ryan O'Neal - aged 82..
I made the wrong decision in watching the movie "Love Story" when I was like 10-11 years old..
Put that right up there with Beaches, Bambi, Marley and Me under "never again".

Put that right up there with Beaches, Bambi, Marley and Me under "never again". I would never watch it again either - it's AWFUL. But he was in some of my faves of the 70s, legit great films in Paper Moon, What's Up Doc and especially the lead role in Kubrick's Barry Lyndon.

The sad news Richard (Capt Mike Yates) Franklin has passed away aged 87. He'd been ill for a while hadn't he? Yeah as Mark 687 said he'd been battling cancer which is why I assume he hasn't featured in the Third Doctor Adventures for a few years. So sad but we have plenty of classic episodes & audio dramas to look back on.

Artist John M Burns, who had drawn comic strips for more years than I can remember, has died. Everything from Wuthering Heights to Judge Dredd, from The Tripods to Modesty Blaise, from The Bionic Woman to The Tomorrow People. His art lives on. 2000AD will be featuring his last series, Nightmare, New York, early in 2024.
RIP

Veteran Welsh actress Glynis Johns has passed away at the age of 100. She appeared in many, many things, but I remember her most fondly from 1973's 'The Vault of Horror' (starring Tom Baker), when she played the long suffering wife of Terry Thomas.
RIP
