Lovely. The Doctor's sorrow at the end, played perfectly. Reminds me of him stopping the Daniels family from taking the Titanic. Some things can't be changed, but he does what he can.
Also, no one here talking about the obvious sequel hook? The Doc says he'll find out where the Cyberman came from "another time" - Volume 4 or part of the next batch I wonder?

I wasn’t as enamoured by this as everyone else, it seems. I enjoyed it a lot; the use of the Cyberman was great, Eccleston on good form and some cracking imagery. However, there’s some stuff I just can’t get past. The Doctor is an idiot letting the Cyberman back on set. And then he goes and lets it on the streets of Berlin afterwards! Then nothing is said or done about the Cyberman killing one of the cast, both at the time in the story and at the end. I get what it’s trying to do, but for me the Cyberman causes enough damage and there’s too many unanswered questions that it’s a disconnect with what’s actually happened / happening. Er... the Doctor does state that it is a good job the studio is well away from the city centre, and anyway the Cyberman ducks into the sewers pretty quickly.
(DOCTOR: We’re just lucky this place isn’t the dead centre of Berlin. It’ll take a bit of time for it to get to somewhere with a lot of people.)
Yes, the death of Olaf is rather rapidly passed over. Lang had a lot of standing in the film community anyway and city, so his influence counted when he said Olaf had 'left the film'. Whatever happened to the body? Probably down those handy sewers. The Doctor did only identify him by Freder Fredersen's distinctive costume.
As it is a 9th Doctor story, I was fully ready to sympathise with the Monster - just like in Frankenstein. After all, the Cybermen start out as people, however they end up. I just wanted to see how John Dorney would handle it amongst the horror and bitterness of interwar Germany.
(For those very few who maybe didn't get it when Dieter and then the Doctor said it - My Struggle = Mein Kampf.)

A solid 8/10. Could use an extra 20 minutes to flesh out the story but overall it was very enjoyable. Post war Germany is such an interesting time period. A lot of social upheaval going on.
