I know someone has had a conversation with Fraser so has some insider info, but the rest is speculation at best. If Fraser was really that brassed-off, I doubt he would have voiced Jamie in this. We are not privy to any of the internal conversations and pointing the finger at NB seems a bit mean when in reality we have no real idea of the circumstances. This is bordering on that other bollox thread about James Goss being difficult, which started 'Ive heard....' Except the person pointing the finger at Nick is Frazier. The word betrayal is a pretty strong one. Do we know the other side of it? No but we do know BF doesn’t have the best track record on communicating it’s changes or intentions at times. I am far from a knee jerk Nick basher but I’m also not one of the ones willing to consistently and constantly give him the benefit of the doubt.

The time spent waiting for the images to load to finally seeing what you were referencing was... a journey. So Sea Devils and the 2nd Doctor? Okay, yeah, now I'm hyped. At least until, someone regrettably informs me that the hints at Silurians were just misdirection designed to get my hopes hope. (Lizards Rule And Apes Drool.) Definitely interested to hear his Troughton. Erm, well, you know what I mean. Especially considering how good Frazier Hines' is (sounds way more accurate than his Jaime, and almost pitch-perfect to the TV show). I wonder if they'll ever do a set together. We know the 2DAs are starting with 6B, but I imagine we'll also get some stories set during the run of the TV show.

....I actually rather like Michael as the Second Doctor, I must admit. Much likes Hines, he certainly captures the spirit of the character (and dare I say, late father?) which is always a plus.
Of course, this is just my immediate reaction to what is just a few snippets. How he fares in the role in the long run we have yet to see (or should that be hear?) and I’m still not sure how necessary it was to have this essentially be a Multi Doctor story.
Interestingly enough, it appears that The Second Doctor literally just bumps into Jamie in this adventure rather than being forced together by the Time Lords. Which does make me wonder if this is in fact the McCrimmon we all know and love or merely some alien doppelgänger.

i know that there is the old saying "if you havent got something nice to say dont say anything at all"
but oh boy im suddenly getting buyers remorse
It took me 3 re listens to finally hear Michael Troughton's Impression and well its more or less on the level of Frazer Hines which might have been decent for The Early Adventures or Companion Chronicles it doesnt fill me with confidence for A Full Cast Adventures Story
Big Finish should have gone with Christopher Thompson

From what we hear on this trailer, I'm perfectly happy with Michael's Second Doctor. There's something 'right' about the son of the original actor playing the role. Just like Tim Treloar's Third Doctor, the voice doesn't need to be 'spot on', as long as the mannerisms and eccentricities are there.
So far, so good!

Well, he sounds little like Pat but he has a cadence down. As I've said, rather a solid actor over an impersonator who may sound the part but loses the drama. In Universe...here, I will help you - the Timelord punishment is slowly altering The Second Doctor - his voice here, his greying hair in The Two Doctors etc. Done.

He’s the Second and a Quarter Doctor, slowly regenerating into Tony Garner.

For myself as well, but I look more for a great performamce that evokes more than sounds exactly the same.

I think I’ll need a little more than the trailer before I really make my mind up, but what’s here is a nice little teaser. I don’t think Michael’s voice is as uncannily similar to his father’s like how Daisy Ashford’s is to her mother’s or Sadie Miller’s to her’s. But from what I can tell by this trailer he has got the mannerisms down and it doesn’t sound like a poor performance either, which is all that really matters for me.
The recasts don’t have to sound exactly like the originals for them to be great - not everyone can be Jonathan Carley. I don’t think Jamie Glover’s Ian sounds much like William Russell’s Ian in the First Doctor Adventures, but Glover does enough in his performance that is similar to Russell’s that it never really breaks the illusion for me. I hope Michael Troughton falls into a similar category for me.

There we go the new tagline is now vocally updated "..for the love of stories". Which to a background of dramatic Music in the Trailer is passable but not against the "fairy Dust" Music they used at the start of Forty. Regards mark687

That little snippet was enough for me. Even if he's not a total copy of his father, Michael Troughton clearly gets the character.
