Big Finish posted this to Facebook today: "2016 will bring more of the Second Doctor adventures and will feature Frazer Hines as Jamie, Wendy Padbury as Zoe and Anneke Wills as Polly in full-cast audios. This is a nostalgic trip back to the 1960s in stories designed to capture the distinctive flavour of that era."
(They also followed up on someone asking about Victoria with "All being well, the second story will be a Victoria one, though it's not yet recorded!") My question is, I thought Early Adventures 2016 was already slated to be First Doctor stories with the recast Barbara? Was that just an assumption on my part and not actually planned? I've also asked on the thread, but thought others here might have more insight. facebook.com/thebigfinish/posts/1179354492093731

I will automatically purchase anything 2nd Doctor but admittedly I am also confused that this isn't 1st Doctor stories. I mean they even just recast Barbara right? ]I imagine the article refers to the Companion Chronicles. Ah duh! should have realized that although full cast kind of threw me off. Well I already did order this.

But doesn't that go against the whole point of the Companion Chronicles? It's supposed to be all from the perspective of the companion. I suppose they could be doing something more like what Torchwood has been doing, having it narrated from one character's point of view yet having a full cast for the rest of the roles, but then that seems to defeat the purpose of having two separate ranges.

They may also be referring to the fact that Isos is yet to be released.

I suspect the confusion is VERY intentional from the phrasing of the article ("More of", "Full-Cast" suggests to be me we're NOT just getting the Companion Chronicles and Short Trips tales and that in general we're getting plenty of Second Doctor material). Looks like we're getting an Early Adventures box set of some sort. I suspect the detail about Victoria is refering to her story in the Companion Chronicles box set and Big Finish are just trying to further murky the waters.

Well Polly has nothing to do with the Isos Network and she is also mentioned. Or Victoria, who they said is intended for the second story. I just got this response from them to my question on the Facebook thread: "The First Doctor and his companions will feature in The Early Adventures Series 3." Soooooo, that's intriguing. Can't wait to see whose guess turns out to be closest. Early Doctors, New Monsters box set, maybe?

Personally I think it's just to do with the companion chronicles box set. Those are full cast after all. Nothing that we don't know that is coming. It's pretty much an advertisement for the 2nd doctor releases in 2016. Nothing more.

It's pretty much an advertisement for the 2nd doctor releases in 2016. Nothing more. In all honestly I think you're right, I think this is a sign that the Companion Chronicles are going to be done more in the style of the Torchwood stories, with the companion telling the story from their own perspective, yet still interacting with a full cast. The uncertainty, debate and speculation come in because traditionally the Companion Chronicles aren't full cast. The format has usually had only two actors, the companion and one guest actor for the companion to play off of directly, while the companion usually fills in the voices for the rest of the cast. So making the Companion Chronicles full cast is a rather large change in direction.

If you go to The Second Doctor Collected site and go to "upcoming released in this range" it lists The Second Doctor Vol. 1. Not The Early Adventures or The Companion Chronicles.
I'm surprised (and disappointed) that they didn't list Elliott Chapman as Ben, seeing that Anneke is in it.

I'm surprised (and disappointed) that they didn't list Elliott Chapman as Ben, seeing that Anneke is in it. That is the next Companion Chronicles set. And they've already revealed that Chapman will be in it as Ben for at least the first story.
